WHAT IS IT? A fashionable new mind-body workout that's being taken up by celebrities. Chi Ball blends aspects of yoga Pilates, Tai Chi and the Feldenkrais method.
HOW DOES IT WORK? It is a classical dance and fitness there are five different Chi Ball routines, each designed to suit a different need and fitness level: posture, release, awaken, energise and yoga. All are based on the traditional Chinese medicine principle that the body's energy, or chi, flows through a network of meridians. If these are blocked , disease may be the result. The routines blend gentle stretching and breathing exercises with the use of a special ball impregnated with aromatherapy fragrance. While the moves are designed to build strength. improve flexibility and tone and balance the body , the scent of the ball is thought to stimulate the flow of energy, release is thought to stimulate the flow of energy, release tension and relax the mind.
WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR ? Chi Ball is popular with those who sit and stand for long period and suffer back and neck pain, shoulder tension and he as a result. It is also claimed to benefit lethargy, poor circulation an muscular stiffness.
