When Should We Get Out Of Iraq?

Tough question. The choices are pretty much to either stay there until the insurgency dies or we do, or to get out and let the Iraqi's either stand or fall on their own. Myself, I support a phased withdrawal that gets our guys out of there by the end of next year, at the latest. Do NOT let Bush pass this buck to the next President. He's got to get us out of there and redeployed to Afghanistan so we can, you know, actually fight Al Qaeda.

I think we should simply stop invading other countries. We have no business in them. We should focus on the issues in our own country and defend our borders, not attack other people because we disagree with their lifestyle or we want what they have. Just my two cents.

This is a hard question for me. I am for a phased redeployment and laying down strict guidelines to the Iraqi government. We cannot be there forever and they need to start standing up and taking accountability for their own country. If the Iraqi's cannot met certain benchmarks or guidelines...then I say, get us out of there, they're going to fight forever whether we're there or not. I'm not saying that we should be out of there, by tomorrow, or within the next 6 months though. I think we should let the surge happen and take place and see how it goes from there. If by the end of the year, the Iraqi's aren't holding up their end of the bargain...then start phasing the outside troops (US, UK, etc.) out.

Um.. yeah. Do you not think the insurgents who are attacking in Iraq now are any worse than Al Qaeda. They are basically the same people.. They are attacking in Iraq too. There are known cells in Iraq.. We are still in Afghanistan, btw..
