I am 40 years old and a little over weight. I use to have so much energy but here lately, I dont have any. I feel like I have weights pulling me down all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to boost my energy? Is there any vitimens or herbs that I can take?

I have a while back. Everyone says when you hit 40 it is hard to loose weight and it is when everything goes down hill. Well I do believe it now.

first you must make some exercises routines in the morning any chores in the house that makes you sweat a lot then its good...it makes you alive and kicking everyday if you always have a time to sweat it out..ive been doing that everyday and it helps it gives me more stamina specially in the computer..the stressed will be minimized...i cant recommend you any vitamins coz im not taking any..im slightly overweight too..

I'm running on 2 hours sleep thanks to No-carb Diet Rock Star energy beverage. It's got minimum 100% daily allowance of vitamin C and most varieties of vitamin B plus several herbs (states them by name on the can, I just can't remember right now, lol.) Great stuff, tastes like sweet tarts, but the stuff works wonders on days when ya need some voom to your step.

you know what you need to do. stop thinking of your weight of what is getting you down. it is how you feel about your weight and how you think of your body is what is getting you down. ok you think you put on a few pounds. everything is working right? your arms, your legs, feet, toe, eyes, nose, ears and everything in between. well then you need to start saying thank you to your body. thank you for working, thank you for carryin me from bed to work. just thank every part of your body and start seeing yourself as the size you want to be. i am telling you it worked for me, and not only do i love the way my body is, i have lost 10 pounds and i have more engery now then i did when i was 20

I'll be 42 in a couple of months and I can say there was been days when I have felt a total lack of energy. I started to take a brisk walk in the evening. I can't believe the difference it has made in my energy level. I sometimes put the radio on and dance with my 2 year old. It's a pretty wild dance LOL. We just go crazy!

I have definately felt a lack of energy before too. What helped me is to walk everyday. Either outside (when it's nice out) or on the treadmill in the basement (boring!) or when it's very cold out (freezing and snow) I go to the mall and walk. I try and walk a minimum of 30 minutes each day. You might have to start out with a smaller amount. I have an IPOD, so that helps pass the time walking listening to music. Also, I found that taking B12 vitamins has helped my energy level tremendously!! I also take a regular vitamin and vitamin C too. All of these have helped boost my energy level. Also, I fall asleep at night really fast now!! Hope this helps, and good luck!! :)

Could be that you a weee bit out of shape and this sort of thing happens. I know there's drinks in the uk which help, as well vitamins best thing is to eat healthy and get the vitamins from this sort of food. (or could because your not eating enough or of the right types your body needs)
A suggestion. =)
Exercise might take some of it up, but you body might feel more benefits from doing something like this.
Goodluck gaining your energy back!

First of all I am in my late forties and I was also a little overweight and I feel that was taking away from my energy. I lost a little weight and I definitely feel better. I also find that walking 30 minutes a day has really helped me feel more energetic. I also take vitamins. I feel one of the best vitamins is vitamin c. It just makes me feel better.

I take a cheap store brand multi-vitimine for women and it really helps, a physicians assistant told me about these and I can tell the days I don't take them - like today.

For me it is the combination between Multiple Sclerosis and Adult ADD.
I am so thankful that I can still walk. Otherwise I'd be bouncing in my wheelchair wearing myself out! LOL. I take vitamins to help with the tiredness.
I am 43 and our bodies are getting tired, so we have to do all that we can to help them keep up.

Walking and light exercise will help..but be sure to have a thyroid test...40 years old is the prime time for thyroid difficulties..and believe me...they can really zap your energy..easily fixed too, if found to be low... It is an easy blood test and is very important...your thyroid governs many things in your life,....heart rate, hair growth and loss, nails and skin, metabolism...just take the time to have it checked...if it's fine that's good...mine was not fine and I let it go too long..suffering needlessly...All the things others are saying...lots of water, a multivitamin, walking, changing you diet to have enough protein...a world of things to do...and my daughter is a Naturapathic Physician...there are many natural things to take also...but there are also many that can be harmful..they produce instant type energy but can harm your heart ...be careful and see that doctor!! Let me know how it goes!!! :)

Bickle, I'm in my fifties but I've had drained feelings in my thirties. So I learned from the Holy Spirit to say this prayer for my self whenever I'm feeling drained. Just Yesterday I had that drained feeling and I had to force myself to go into the kitchen and prepare a meal that my daughter asked me early that morning to cook for her.
So I prayed, "Holy Spirit I thank you for quickening (making alive) my mortal body. You are the same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the grave and sat Him on the right handside of the Father where He prays for me daily. Amen." And instantly that tired, dragged out feeling left me. Praise God. So I advise you to pray that prayer for yourself and please tell me your results.

I am 43, and since I moved here I have gained some weight and my energy levels are well, I don't have any. LOL
For one thing, I'm not as active as I was back home, and the weight gain on top of it. I think another part of my problem is that I work 12 hour shifts at night, at a very sendatary job with lots of down time.
I keep thinking about walking too, and I really should take vitamins. I am also looking for a new job, I think the hours have me really out of wack, I'm a day person and even after more than 6 months I just can't adjust to working nights.

Everyone sitting for more than a few hours behind a computer has this problem... I was lucky to get in touch with a pharmaceutical company that also sells nutrician supplements. One of them is a pill with Q10 coenzime... This doctor suggested me to try it and even gave me a sample box. So I did. First reaction was that I have slept like a baby and it was really hard for me to get up in the morning... after a week or so getting-up wasn't a problem anymore. I felt fit, strong, relaxed and full of energy. So, now I do 'treat' myself with a Q10 'therapy' every now-and-then. It helps. A lot.
Also, a very simple and quite powerfull 'booster' is a pure vitamin C. It's safe, because body only uses as much as it needs...
Beetroot juice is great, it also boosts me up. Plus it will lower your temperature when it's too high. I am allergic to aspirine so I use beetroot juice in quite a large amounts and it really helps.
Of course, all of the aboves are just bad substitutes for a healty food and habbits. Get your heart pumping at least once a week, sweat out the 'poisons' and let yourself go... For me meditation is also a great way to regain some energy.
