What is the deal with this? I was asked to be this newbies friend and when I accepted him, he wrote me a message. The message wasn't even a greeting or anything like that. The message contained a spamming message that wanted me to join him in googleads. I am already a member of this. I don't like people spamming me. If I want a link to something then I will usually ask for it. People don't need to send me junk in my mylot inbox. I checked out this persons profile and they hadn't even written a discussion. There score was a nine in parenthesis. Mylot is better than this and if you want to get the word out about something that you are a part of then either ask the person first or wait until they ask you. If you want to start a discussion about something taht you are promoting, then that would be alright but please do not spam us again. What do you think about people spamming you? I always ask for certain links but when I don't ask for them, i don't like for people just to up the information.

I totally agree with you.I also don't likes anybody spam me. It should be do it by good manners, by join discussion here and its more professional. At least we should greet our friend first and ask him/her for something we have joined later.

I will usually start off a discussion asking for links if that is what I want. I have a lot of discussions asking people for their links to sites or blogs. I don't like it when people just start sending you stuff when you don't even know this person. If you want to send someone something like this then you should ask them first in an email while you are introducing yourself.

I agree, this is not on! Like you, if I am interested in someone's site, I will ask for the link - I don't like it shoved under my nose. We should all be respectful of each other here, and not abuse the system.
Did you write back to this guy and tell him how you feel about spamming, or are you waiting for him to read your discussion? He needs to.
Have you deleted this guy from your list of friends?

I haven't done anything. I am waiting for this person to figure out that you can't do this. This person is new and I don't know if they have read the FAQ's on mylot or not. I guess that I should say something though to give this person a heads up.

It is annoying but I don't mind it when people I consider friends ask me my opinion about a program or if I would be interested in a program. All you can do is report them to MYLOT and delete them from your friends list.
I'm not sure MYLOT guidelines allow you to start discussions to promote your referal links. It's a fine line line. It's okay to add your referral link to discussions where people are asking for them though.

I never asked for the link, they sent it in an email that looked like a company email asking me to sign up. It never introduced themselves or asked me my opinion on it. I always ask for links when it comes to a discussion, but if you are going to ask to be my friend then don't do it just to spam my email inbox.
