Hello out there.I am getting shingles again and I was wondering if others with fibromyalgia have them or get them?
My doc tells me that most people that get them will have a severe case that may last a long time but seldom get them again.I get them about every 6 to 10 mweeks and they last a week or more. They are extremely painfull and I get kinda crabby when I have them.
My questions are:
Have you ever had them?
Have you had them more then once?
Who with fibro has had them?
Anybody have any cures?
Thanks
Raydene

Shingles are leftovers from people that have had chicken pox and not related to fibro. I have heard that they can be chased with magnets in a very few days, they normally run around the torso as I understand and travel a narrow band, if you can contact me I will research it again.

Fibro is a parasite. When it feels threatened it goes into hiding in your muscles and can stay there or a couple of weeks. It is very difficult to get rid of, but can be done, but not by a doctor. This is why the highs and lows of fibro. Also why you hurt here today and there tomorrow.[There are 2100 parasites and microbials that attack the human body] Depending how many fibro parasites you have depends on how many places you hurt.
Parasites are reported to be sexually active about 4 days prior the full of the moon, this is why they say the so called mentally challenged act up, because of the activity that is not understood is going in some bodies. They can vary from 30 feet long to microscopic.

Hi! I too have fibromyalgia. Unlike you, I have never had shingles. Actually, I didn't have chicken pox either. I did get the chicken pox vaccine about 9 years ago. Since I was 27 at the time and hadn't had my childhood diseases (not complaining about that!), I had to have 2 doses of the vaccine, 3 weeks apart. The vaccine made me very sick, like the worst flu you could imagine. It set in the day after the first dose of vaccine. I was sick for almost the 3 weeks between the vaccines. I think the day before I was scheduled for the 2nd dose is when I started feeling better. I went in and got the 2nd dose and just like the first, I had another 3 week round of what felt like the worst possible case of flu! But, no chicken pox.
Since shingles is related to chicken pox, my having the vaccine may be why I have never had shingles.

Shingles are a left from people that have had chicken pox and not related to fibro and again the doctors cannot help but there is help. The ones I have heard of travel around the torso and I have heard of them being chased with magnets in a mattr of a few days.

Have never had them myself. But my daughter had them as an infant. [She didn't build immunities properly until she had surgery in her teens and got blood transfusions.] Her doctor said shingles are cousins to chicken pox and you aren't supposed to get one if you've had the other. But in her case she had chicken pox, then shingles, then chicken pox again! I'd say you should be seen by an immunologist.

shingles is a secondary form of chicken pox, there really is no CURE for it, but you can use creams & stuff to ease it. The chicken pox virus hides in the nerve endings & comes out when a person is in a weakened condition, my mom got it once when she was stressed working for my bro doing taxs
