If you read about the subject, you will find that men who have been circumcised have less chances of having prostate cancer, and that the wives of men who have been circumcised have the lowest rate of cervical cancer among married women. Both of those reasons make it worth while to consider. In addition to those compelling reasons for circumcision, men who have been circumcised find that area of their body much easier to keep clean, as bacteria and foreign matter tend to build up in the foreskin if it is not carefully cleaned every day. Ask your doctor what he thinks about it before you make up your mind.

It is just insane that we don't do it. People say its mutilation and child suffers but actually it is good for health and hygiene purposes.

I didn't have my son circumsized. My husband was not circumsized and he did not want our son circumsized. His reasoning, do not take away what the Lord has given. Unless, of course, there is a medical reason. We asked the doctor which was the best way to go and he told us it didn't matter. It was a personal decision. Medically there were no health benefits either way. Now this was almost 10 years ago and studies may suggest otherwise now.

Both the BMA and the US equivalent agree there is no medical benefit from circumcision and provided the man washes regularly neither is there a hygiene reason. Furthermore, there are some documented reports of trauma being caused by the practice. Time to stop this barbaric practice that should be regarded in the same manor as scarification. all the best urban

While i circumsized my first son, i will not be doing it to this baby. I did the first time because i didnt research it or learn anything about it. I was young and my mom said it was going to happen and i took it for granted that it was something that had to be done. Not a day goes by when i see my sons privates that i dont feel regret... There is little to no reason to preform a circumsion on a baby. And what little reason there is, i dont think its worth it. If this guy decides when he grows up that he wants it done. that will be his choice.
