Hypocrisy and a bad spokesman...

It is most unfortunate the recent news on Al Gore, leading advocate for 'An Inconvenient Truth'. Due to the hypocritical standards by which he lives his daily life, the imperatively important message of the film will now be dismissed. I find this most tragic. The stsate of the world declines daily, our children's futures are in grave peril, yet now this issue has further excuse to be ignored. I find it appalling that the lead spokesman chosen to spread the message allows himself to live such a dual standard. would it not have made the impact of the film much more valuable to have had it done by someone who 'practiced what they preached'? Now, the dire future of our world may be made a joke, something of no consequence to be taken seriously. If only each person would consider their own personal impact on tomorrow and take personal responsibility for doing their own part to make the changes that desperately need to be made. If only... perhaps then I could have some hope for my children's future.

If you kept up with the news you'd know that the article about his electric bills was a smear job.

Figures. My apologies for ranting. I only catch news periodically because nothing ever changes.

It would be nice if you referred to the things he was doing to be a hypocrit.. i am not an Al Gore fan, at all, but I must say that he does live more of an eco friendly life than most. He operates his house using alternative energy(thus paying a bigger bill). If he was driving around in a big SUV I'd agree with you, but he is doing what he can to spread the word, starting with his film. I'm curious as to how he's a hypocrit though?
