Is there a difference between a one night stand and an affair?

Some say cheating is cheating but i think and affair is much worse than a one night stand. My neighbor has just found out that her husband had a one night stand. She wants a divorce but I told her to think twice. A one night stand is not as bad as a prolonged affair. She sees them as one in the same. What do you think?

There's a quite difference although much the same, for me, affair is a long relationship longer than one night stand which was only for one night.. It doesnt matter what kind of affair or how long it took but maybe you're friend thinks that although a one night stand, still, she was been cheated..

In a way I can see your point of view. However, he cheated on her, the name of the infidelity doesn't matter that doesn't matter much. It still hurts!

I agree with her. Both are two evils one shouldn't bargain for. the time duration is just the difference between them. One is just a night with no strings attached and one takes a longer time with strings attached.
however, divorce is too drastic. if you can, get her to talk things over with her husband and also look inwards to see if she has no role in making her man go out.
