I'll go for both because puppies are cute and dogs are big enough to guard us...

I loke both puppies and dogs. I love the cuteness of a puppy but I tend to like the matureness of a dog. The both have their good points and their bad points.

Puppies all look very sweet. They are lovely to play with. However lots of training is necessary. I prefer my dogs now that they are older. They can do longer walks, need less feeds per day and are more sensible than they used to be.

That's hard to say because they are both so special in their own ways. I prefer to be able to experience both stages of their lives-puppy to dog. A puppy does really cute things but also does a lot of damage to furniture and such...haha. A dog seems to settle down a lot from his puppy years and becomes more of a companion; if I had to choose which I like more I suppose I'd choose the dog.

I don't think I have every heard anyone in the last few years use the term 'doggy."
I think it was more popular 50 years ago.
Right now, I think 'Puppy' gets the vote as first choice as to what you should call your little friend.
