it's best to try it thru conversations. but if you can't find someone to converse with in english, how about watching english movies, english news and listening to english songs?
the more you are familiar with what's usually used in certain types of conversations or how people speak english, then it's easier to do it by yourself.
self-studying can also contribute. speak infront of a mirror, as a form of practice.
i was a tutor before. now i'm a trainer.

you're welcome.
explore and participate in useful discussions such as this. it's like having a conversation already. then read it aloud... that way, you are already practicing. :)

That is wonderful that you are learning English, well I believe that you can find people on here in mylot that would help you a lot to write in English and as for myself I live in Australia my husband is from the South Pacific and I taught him english as I hate people downgrading people just because they cannot understand english, and I always told him to try and remember what other people said to him if he could not understand properly to get an idea of what they were saying and come home and tell me so I could tell him the next time they said that how to reply.

watch the news. It sounds funny but on the news they talk slower, so it is easier to understand, and learn from. When I lived in japan when I was in the Marines, that is how I started to learn Japanese. The other way is to just talk to people. But I would suggest finding a friend that will help you. Because I am sorry to say, there are a lot of ignorant American's that will make fun of you if you can't speak English perfectly. Also where do you live? I know there are night schools in many U.S. cities, that teach English. If you live in a different country. Try going to schools for it. You might feel more comfotable in a class setting, where everyone is learning. You seem to have a good start I'd help if I could.
or..
you can sit in front of a miror and speak with your self.think about what are you going to tell to others in your mother language.or think about a memory and tell it yourself in english.when you dream think you area good speaker.little by little you improve.i bet with you

Hi, i think the best way to learn is just by using it... talk to people... start conversations with peopl and you might even get new friends while you do it too. Also talk in the mirror and try to immitate someone you see on the tv or radio. See if this helps. Good luck!

I think that all messengers are good and I don't understand why you are not finding someone to chat. It is easy and funny. Maybe your presentation is not the best to find someone. Try again.

It looks like both of us have same problem. I'm dealing with myself right now to be able speaking in english fluently. I'm trying to discipline myself to always live with english, by speaking in english with my friends who expert on it, reading english books everyday, writing so many articles in blog using english, and watching CNN,BBC, Discovery channel and so on to improve my listening skill.
Now, I can see clearly that it's worked. I really mean it. My english was so bad before, but because of this particular practice and my courage to be able to speak in english, I have a great progress for now.
So, my message here is just practicing your english and don't be affraid to speak out your idea in english. don't be affraid to make some mistakes if you talk with foreigners. Trying to join with some forums, like toefl.org or perhaps this forum as well.
Ok, friend...hopefully you can get the best way that suitable with you.

It's really hard to improve your english especially when you don't have enough practice. As the saying goes: "Constant practice makes perfect." If there's no one around you can talk to, it's better for you to read a lot. Read anything. I would suggest you read inspirational and motivational books, beside from improving your english you'll get more personality development tips. Read stories so you will not be bored and read books that interest you. Later you will be surprised that your english is improving little by little.

It is really difficult for Chinese to speak English like Englishmen or American. They have their own pronunciations, while a Chinese could speak it in his or her own pronunciation. We Pakistani or Indians speak in our native pronunciation. If you want to adopt the way of talking of a society, then you would enter in that society, live and behave with them in their ways of speaking and in other manners of life. Do in Rome, as Romans do, after then you will also become a Roman. The person enters in the mine of salt becomes salt. Mix-up with well English speakers to improve your oral English, if you can.

I actually use movies to better my pronounce. I'm pretty good at imitation so i just speak as i hear people talk in the movies.
I obviously dont copy WHAT to say, just how to pronounce it. It's very easy to do, just practice talking a bit to yourself if you cant soeak with english speaking people. Oh well..i can..but if you dont find any just repeat words you hear until you are confident on how to pronounce. Also observe how they sound precisely, and how they are used in different contexts.
Hope this helps..

whenever you are talking with your friends just try to use maximum words in english then slowly you should talk in english with your friends or in your family or simplest way to speak english orally just stand infront of the mirror and try to speak with facing your eyes in the miror because it will develope your confidence enormously.

Read more english pocketbooks. It will polish your knowledge of the spoken english language. You'll read in those pocket books dialogues between characters. It's good, try it.

Now a days learning English has become very easy . One need not attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit

Natural English speakers need to improve their English. The best way to improve your English is to watch the BBC.

for me, i think one best way to improve your oral english is by watching english movies. listen how the characters talk, preferably, the american characters. they will help you how to pronounce and talk better.
why this works?.....
you can immitate their ways on speaking and communicating. but don't just look at their ways in saing words, but also, look at the contents....
this really helps. Good Luck and GOD Bless!!!

The only way to improve your oral language is that you have to talk in that language more. In the beginning people may laugh at you for the usae of language and pronounciation. But you should continue talking in that language and you have to refer the dictionary for the pronounciation and meaning for usage to develop your language skill.
