Yep and my grip on my pen or pencil is not as strong which probably leads to the handwriting to get worse. HMMM! Do they have therapy for this? LOL!

Actually, I am the other way around. MY handwriting is so bad, I always try to type things up instead of write them. I'm left handed, and none of my teachers wanted to work with me growing up. I can type a LOT faster than I can write, and everyone can read it. So I rarely hand write anything anymore!

Absolutely! Everything in life has become so technology based that it's rare that we even need to bother picking up a pen anymore (not saying this is always a good thing). Sometimes I forget exactly the form in which a certain letter of the alphabet is written and often just make it up myself, hehe. Think about all the stuff you can do online these days- school, banking, shopping, working, emails, the list goes on. Sometimes it's a shame that people no longer pick up a pen and write a nice personalized letter to a loved one.

ya true that is happening to me and even my spellings are going bad. i have finally kept a dictionary close by so i dont make mistakes adn check when ever i haev a doubt. with the new style of writing english all over the adds, like spelling 'can' as 'kan', i often get confused....and the handwriting i only et to check once in a while, while writing addressses and all, never get to write real stuff...

You are right it's true and it happened to me. At first i didn't relate it to the disuse of my longhand writing. It's the trend of today that we are all following. I do once in a while use snail mail for correspondences that are not time sensitive. I guess you can always get it back if you return frequently to using longhand.

yes, handwriting is no longer comfortable for me, I do less and less of it, and I am much sloppier. IT also seems to take so long to do such a simple thing as write my name on a check. Typing goes so much faster and if you notice an error in your writing it is a cinch to correct.

I've never been a neat writer. I don't think my writing has changed. But I love to type so much! I type so fast that I just love it that I finally have a laptop now so that I don't have to struggle as much to take notes. I'm not skilled at copying from a board, so it's fantastic that I can type at the speed most people talk.

my handwriting was never that good, but with the more frequent use of the computer, it has gotten worse and my hand stiffens when i do write something long, like when taking tests.

When I was a teen I loved to handwrite and now I cant read it much when I try in my journals mostly. Now I hate to do anything but type its easier on me personally. But when I do write, I print. I actually am kinda embarrased to say this but I dont recall how to handwrite write except printing, and of course signing my name *L* oh well :p

Good points. I used to have fairly nice handwritting. Nothing compared to my grandmother's and my moms though. Not only have I noticed, but the hubby has too. LOL He started laughing at me the other night saying my S's looked like 5's. I'm not the only one though. I had to laugh today when I got an invitation in the mail. My sister in law called this morning to ask if we got her birthday party invite but I hadn't yet. When I checked the mail, I noticed that it was misaddressed slightly. My brother in law had sent out the invites out of her address book. One or both of them had written 16005 instead of 1600 S. That caused the letter to take 5 days to get to me instead of the usual 2 days. At least it wasn't just me. LOL

I've noticed that too, and it's unfortunate. I used to really like my handwriting too. I've noticed too, that I can't write for as long as I used to. Back in school, I could write a page or two like it was nothing - now it's like the wrist muscles have gotten weaker, and they hurt after writing just a little bit. I guess I need to make a concentrated effort to actually write more often!
