When do you get to the point that you don't need anything else?

I have all that I could ever want. When my family ask me what I want for my birthday, Mother's day or Christmas, I say I have everything. So I ask them to write me a letter or make me a memory!

Thats wonderful.Stuff just that, STUFF! Memories and things that have meaning are more important than having possessions. I think gifts and memories from the heart are always more important than shiny things. I prefer practical gifts - things I can use. I dont like decorative stuff, jewelry, or flowers. Food, however, is a gift I never turn down!!

I say that too. But now that i'm in a new house that needs a lot of TLC. I can come up with lots of stuff i want. Usually all I ask for is a break. Even if it is for an hour or two. Just to do what I want to do. No cleaning, No folding Laundry, no feeding babies, no diciplining kiddos

I'm 25 and I'm at that point!! I just don't need anymore stuff. I've got everything I really need. Mom usually gives me money for birthdays and Christmas, because I can always use a few bucks, but there's really nothing ese I need besides that.

thats a great idea. i dont ever do such things as i find it difficult to cling to memories adn keep the emotions the same, i dont think i have the time to. i prefer something that i can use as a gift. i feel cards say a lot but then u can neither throw them nor go thru them once in a while. wish i could manage to go thru them more often. so i prefer to keep sentimental stuff to the least:)

I've reached that point. sure there are some things we could use (like a new roof, new well house, new heating system), but really we can not afford them. Otherwise I think we are overloaded with material items and it drives me bonkers. I do not want any more dust collecting knick knacks thankyou! I ask every occasion for the same gift, but I've yet to receive it, maybe this year? I want a day with no arguments between the children - and their rooms cleaned without being told.

I agree. I reached that point in my life recently. I have everything material I need, have everyone in my life that I need. There is nothing else that I could possibly need, so I tend to prefer the creative gifts. Pictures, albums, letters, etc.

I don't think I ever will. Will all the lenses for photography that I want and stuff. I suppose if I ever did end up with all I ever wanted, I would ask that people would donate to charity rather than get me a present.

Well, I'm there! And have been for a while, really. I'd just really prefer not to be given any more "stuff" to clutter up my home. I never know how to answer questions about what I'd like for birthdays, Christmas, etc., so I tend to try to think of something that I honestly need and can use - sheets, a small appliance, etc. There's the rare occasion that I actually have something in mind that I want (usually a book!), but it doesn't happen too often. Aren't we so blessed to need and want for so little?
