"Onizuka Eikichi, twenty two years old", the famous line in Great Teacher Onizuka. This very straight forward guy name Eikichi Onizuka who wants to change delinquent students to study hard and respect elders is one of the craziest anime characters. He drives fast, drinks liquors and smokes as well but deep inside his very passionate in changing bad attitudes into good attitudes. Turning lousy students into good students. He helps out students who has family problems like Murai, who was raised by a single mother. Helps restore broken relationships and make the students realize that they are not doing good. Turning lousy students into stars. Do you remember Onizuka? What do you remember about him? Do you know his delinquent students?

Onizuka - Great Teacher Onizuka
Yup, this is a great manga I read. I don't like the live action movie. He's a good teacher with bad knowledge and bad attitude LOL But I like the way he solve his student's problem.

Yeah! Do you remember the first time he tried solving the problem of his female student? I think it was when he was teaching before he went to the class where Koichi and Murai goes. I remember he was blackmailed back there. The gang was trying to get some money from him when they got his picture with her female student. These male students were telling him that he will not be able to become a teacher if someone knows about the scandal. I was a disaster! He then threatened those male students by bringing his own gang. And I remember he was torturing them in a swamp or lake in a park where they were tied upside down. Hahahah! That was really good and very hilarious! Afterwards he managed to fix the female student's problem with her family. He even saw the girls flying undies and saw her ___ while she's the top floor of the school building.

His ways are beyond our expectations! The ways he solves the problems of his students are very different from traditional ways of counseling. If you can remember the episode where he was blackmail by his students while he was on probation on becoming a teacher. He got back to these punks by calling his gang. He tied them upside down and tortured them a bit! Hahahah! In the end he fixed the girls problem by breaking the side wall of the wall that comes between her parents rooms. At the end of that he saw the girls undies flying toward his face and imagine the other thing he saw back then.

Yes I know about Great Teacher Onizuka. I have been read the manga and now I watch the anime series. GTO is so cool, I like the Onizuka character, a teacher with special technique to study. Really great anime and manga. I want to watch the live action series too, I will try to find it someday.

There are lots of teaching techniques. Every teacher has a unique way or style of teaching their students but for Onizuka, I would say that its very peculiar. Well, he first fix what is wrong with his students then they would trust him and listen to him. Thats a good teaching strategy, he first fix and get their trust. Their minds will be open to him and he will be able to teach them well. Onizuka's a dream teacher. What a cool teacher!

I love Onizuka, but sometimes I think his stunts are a little uncalled for. However, I do think he's justified in his actions. I think my favorite episode was when he strapped a doll modeled after Kanzaki to a bike and destroyed it.

His actions are really out of somewhere. How he reacts to the situation is really far fetched but he manages to fix the problem.... heheheheh He always do whats the first thing that comes to his head, like an instinct. You would not know how it will work until you watch the end of the episode. What a guy this teacher is, he's really cool. He may look baka but he's really smart! This straight forward guy is one of the coolest guy in anime world!

The anime series is good. Its funny and onizuka as a teacher is great. However if youre talking about the live action i didnt like how it was made. It did not meet the expectations of the audience i guess. The story is different from the manga and the anime.

Hmmmmmm..... Thats something to look forward to.... I havent watched the live action for GTO as of now and I am really eager to watch it though. I been looking for a vcd or dvd copy of this but I guess its really hard to find. Maybe you can share something about the things that the live action didnt meet or how different it was from the anime series or even from the manga... What some expectations you were looking for from the live action?

I agree, the class was not boring. He always have an ice breaker. They would let someone pump a water rocket, I remember one of the PE teacher was hitted by that rocket. Hahahah! I remember when he let his students do what they want, the female group especially the Ayabe group would just leave the classroom. I remember that he even used his students to dig a treasure on their school field trip and end up finding an old bomb. That was an explosion!

He's antics and remarks are really funny. He would let his students do anything as long as it wont hurt anyone from the class or any person. If they go wild or do something nasty, he immediately do something. One of Murai's friend was set up by the female group in the class, he was accused of stealing the money for their field trip. The guy went missing and soon after he was found to be working to pay for the lost money. Onizuka then help this guy to make some money, he was working so hard just to help his student. What a teacher!

I know GTO from dorama. That's one of my favorite dorama. I like the Onizuka character in that dorama. GTO Live Action also has the movie, the setting located on rural island of Hokkaido. I also watch GTO anime. I like Onizuka because he love his students and he dedicated himself to help his students with his unique way. "Long live Onizuka sensei~"

I remember that his dream was to become a best teacher. He was trying so hard to meet his goals and teaches his student to go after their dreams. He encourages his students who are leading astray life and tries to fix delinquent guys and gals. Onizuka may not be the ideal teacher but I would say he will become a famous teacher. He might even revolutionize the way of teaching. He's concern with his students especially those who are not doing well in class or are having a hard time in their family or students with personla problems.

One of the best anime I've ever watched. Gangster teacher. The best biker in history. Yup, remember him alright. Just wish I could have a teacher like him in UST. As for his students, I could only remember a few which made a great impact on the show, particularly Kanzaki Urumi. She was the smartest and the scariest student in his class. Yup, scary.

Of course I still remember Onizuka. There are a lot of hilarious scene both in anime and manga. But IMHO, the most memorable scene is in manga - when cockroach in food prank backfires to Murai. If very school has one Onizuka type teacher, imagine what will happen? =="
