in this digital age, eveything seems to have a vitual version. Virtual love or friendship is not a new topic, but I just think of it when I communicated with several colleagues in the 515 class via the internet. by this communication, we actually become friends. I am just thinking what if we just talk with each face to face or over the phone? I have to say, I am not an outgoing nor talktive person in the real life, if it's not a distance course, I am afraid I couldn't make any friends. when chatting online however, people are more willing to tell more about themselves. in china, there is a very popular chat software called QQ, millions of people chat with each other through it. everyone has a bunch of virtual friends, whom they never met in the real life. Several friends of mine even got married with their virtual friends after they meet in person. that's probably because most chinese are very reserved in the real life, but they can be totally different persons when chatting online. maybe the internet is a good place to make them know each other more. but virtual relationships also have some downsides. A polite, well-educated person could be a criminal in the real world. sometimes, trust is just a difficult thing in the virtual world. so eventually, the question is "do you believe virtual friendship or love?"
