yesterday i read an entertainment column in our local newspapers about the writer's opinion that beyonce shouldn't have accepted the star role in dreamgirls but instead have chosen hudson's role coz she wasn't even nominated in the best actress because her role was not that great. if you are going to be in a not so critic captivating lead role, would you co-star jen in an winning supporting role?

I don't think she could have chosen Hudson's role even if she wanted to. Firstly, Effie's voice is very deep and rich and Beyonce's voice is really more on the pop side. Second, she had to put on a LOT of weight in order to pull off Hudson's role. If I were in that position, yeah I would still accept it. It's an acting role and I think Beyonce just wanted to prove that she can act.
