I would like to know if anyone here even knows what dermatographism is? If so, do you or a loved one have it? What treatments do you/they use (if any)? The reason I am asking is because my 5 year old son has it, and it causes some pretty bad marks on his skin. His bruises turn into scars. He gets hives a lot, and he can't bump into anything or have pressure put on his skin at all without getting huge whelps. We have never medicated him for it, but we were told at age 2 that it was a diagnosis that needed to be on record or we could get in trouble with CPS because his marks look like child abuse.
