Driveing on the freeways nowadays

I dont know about anybody else but I get awfully tired of the crazy drivers on the roads nowadays. If I dont have someone rideing on my bumper when I'm doing 65 to 70 mph, I have someone changing lanes right in front of me, (sometimes both at the same time). I try to hang in the right lane and keep pace with the slower cars and I get someone cuttig across three lanes to make their offramp(like they didnt know their offramp was there 5 minutes ago). I have to drive 50 miles round trip to and from work five days a week and the police sit there with their radar guns not careing how people actually drive. If they would actually get out there and do their jobs, maybe just a little bit of this craziness would stop. Okay, I feel better now, just needed to get that rant off my chest. Thank you for reading my rant. :)

I totally agree with you. Drivers are totally insane, lately. What I hate the most is when I am trying to go on to the freeway, and some nimrod who has abslolutely nobody anywhere near him refuses to move over a lane, making me have to slam on the brakes or stomp on the gas pedal! I have almost ended up on the embankment a few times!

I am so glad I don't have to drive in that rat race anymore. When I travel anymore, I travel when it isn't peek traveling time, specially through big cities. I wish you had that choice also. Just try to be careful and watch what other drivers are doing. And if it gets too bad, your friends are here at mylot are ready to listen to you rant and will respond with support for you.

Thank you for that. Yes, it gets really bad some days, other days its not that bad. I just wish some of the other drivers had just a little bit of curtisy. its like they think there going to get to there destination any sooner and they usually dont. Take care!!

I get tired of all the poor drivers on the road too.
If they are not speeding around, they are cutting in front, going way to slow, wandering out of the lanes, etc.
You have to be on guard at all times ~ and it's not all young people, but drivers of all ages!
I have been passed on curves, at the start of a hill, etc where there is no way to see if someone is coming or not.
I do not drive slow by any means, but it pass on a curve!

I know the feeling.I get so mad when people drive like that.I have 2 kids in the back when I am driving and it makes me mad that people are riding my bumper.I am thinkig what if someone stabbes on the brakes in front of me or something runs out in front of me and I need to put on my brakes they could run into me.I especially get mad when people are riding my bumper and their are like 3 cars in front of me and the car at the front is th eone holding up the traffic and I have this paerson almost riding my bumper and I am thinking like you can make me go any faster when thier is like 3 cars in front of me.I am like Duh.do you ever wonder why I am not going any faster.Maybe its because i have 3 cars in front of me.What are they like going to push my bumper who in turn hits car number 3 and then car number 2 and then car number 3 to make us go faster.HMMMMMM.I think that if they are in that big of a hurry they should have started out earlier.I also hate when People cut across three lanes of traffic to get to the exit ramp as well.Well thanks for letting me rant.LOL.

I'm with you Carrie. I have two small girls and not only did becoming a mother make me a better driver it also made me more aware of bad drivers but especially ones who are all up on my bumper or people who cut out in an intersection and almost plows into either side of the car.
I just spend 4 years driving in Japan, which has the worst roads and driving etiquette I've ever seen. It's loaded with irony. They are bad because they are so polite. I learned to become an offensive driver because over there you really had to watch out for #1. Even back home I find the lessons I learned to be helpful in dealing with bad drivers.

No problem, you just all you like. I agree, you can watch cars on the freeway and see 6 or 7 cars in one lane rideing on each others bumpers. All it would take is one car to step on his brakes and it could be all over for all of them. Usually half of them are talking on a cell phone. Just dangerous. Thanks for your response.

Oh my, yes. Unsafe driving is one of my biggest pet peeves. If you are keeping a safe distance from the car in front of you, someone will swoop into the space. Tailgaters also drive me nuts and scare me, esp. when you're going that fast.

am with you on this one I go the freeway once a month 80 miles to get lotto tickets.
and I go to AZ. not to Cal. for that way is the worst ever the drivers are crazy they are either rushing to get back to cal after weekend or they are raushing to get to Las Vegas to Gamble ha ha .
The surface streets are much better either for you always have someone driving crazy or not paying attention like poeple on their cel phones I got and ear piece I love it dont take my mind somewhere else when answer the cell.
I wouldnt like driving 50 miles to work tho gas is to high for one thing another ya see more wrecks

I drive the back roads to work- and my gripe is the excat opposite- it's the people that drive too slowww-- Drive the speed limit or stay off the roads- I can see if it is bad weather- but not on normal days- you can't pass- I'd give anything to be like you on the freeway driving back and forth to work-
I'd have to say I might be one of those faster drivers though- But I am respectful- I don't cut people off or tailgate- If I get to close to another car- my daughter is like MOM_--- get off their butt-! lol

I hate driving anymore because of these maniacs on the road and it has since gotten worse since we have moved to florida.I have people cutting in front of me without using their signals or I will have people beeping at me for moving too slow even though I am going the speed limit.I could go on and on. In defense of the police, there are just too many.I think they should start getting more of those traffic cameras out .That would certainly help catch them
