Gastric Bypass

Has any one had gastric bypass for weight reduction? How did you do, did insurance cover it and was it worth it? I am thinking about it seriously since nothing else has worked no matter how hard I try. Appreciate any input.

My cousin had the surgery last december. She lost 125lbs. She has had no problems or complications. Her insurance did not cover it. Her doctor charged her a flat fee of 20,000. She paid so much down and pays monthly. That fee covered her 7 day hospital stay. She is well and very happy. Good luck!

Wow! that sounds too expensive to me. I personally can't afford it. I better exercise myself if it was me. Thanks!

I am being admitted on Sunday.I have spoken to a few ladies and seen the before pictures. They look awesome now. In South Africa our medical aid/insurance doesn't cover it.I had to pay the doctor cash.

Had it in May this year, insurance paid all but $2300. It is the best $2300 I have ever spent. I have lost 85 pouns so far. Check out obesityhelp.com for more info. on this.
