how can we restore old photographs?

I think you can get it scanned on computer through a professional photographer who has this facility, then after scanning, a CD could be made of those photos and I think, in this manner you can preserve your old photographs.

I had some photos that were over one hundred years old and I had them restored at a photography outlet. Now they're amazing.

can they restore a picture even if it has stains?the picture already was stuck on the glass of the picture frame.

Found you a tutorial. That might show what it takes and give you ideas for alternatives. Good luck with this. Actually if you are familiar with adobe photoshop, you could scan retouch and reprint those old photos to restore them. If you're not that adept with the program, you could always seek professional help in photography shops.
