I had the same question sometime back. But now, I have friends who go into my profile and try to answer my discussions. I do the same to them. I try to answer at least one discussion of my friends a day. You also try that then your friends would do that to you as well. Just the way I came to this discussion. Good Day.

So many discussions are posted here on mylot that it is sometimes hard to get your discussion noticed. Most of my discussions have gotten at least one response, but very few have gotten lots of responses. The ones that have gotten the most responses are the ones where I reply to the people who respond. This keeps that discussion going back to the front of the discussion page. You also have to give people something to talk about - something new that has not been done over and over. That's kind of hard because of the enormous amount of discussions being posted all the time. Also, you don't get paid for one or two word answers, it seems, so people don't want to bother responding to discussions that only ask for a one or two word answer.

If your topic requires thought process and an answer more than 2 words in length, the liklihood of someone responding is slim. Look at some of the topics out there. "Coke or Pepsi", "margarine or butter". "Am I pretty"
I would rather search for a topic that makes you think.

With plenty of new topics created every seconds, no wonder newly created ones were pushed to the next pages. So that is the reason why there are topics that still has zero response. It's not deliberately ignoring the topics but more so of the fast movement of topics.

Maybe because your topic got quickly pushed back to give way to newly created topic so people failed to notice your topic. Other than that, maybe your topic needs a little more brain to post a comprehensible answer so some people tend to ignore topics like. They prefer topics that will require them to answer "yes or no", "I do or I don't" and other topics that needs simple answers.
Well, I post on you topic and its not a yes or no one. :)

It is strange but for some reason my discussions don't seem to get any responses for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden they all seem to get responses at the same time and i spend all my time commenting and don't get a chance to respond to discussions. Now i have decided to only start a discussion every couple of weeks and only if i have something very topical or need to know but have time to get an answer.I am going to spend most of my time responding . The hardest thing i find is sifting through all the rubbish to find decent discussions i can give quality responses to. Good luck with your topics and just keep trying
