dress code in the church

Last sunday, our parish priest read a letter from our Bishop. He was worried about the dress code in the church. Now-a-days brides and brides maids wear dresses which are revealing and are not fit to wear in the church. It is offensive for the celibate priests as well as the congregation. He requested the parents to be careful the way small children are dressed these days. They might look cute now, but when they grow up they will continue dressing the same way. There was a time when women used to dress decently, but now everyone likes to show skin in the name of fashion. After that anouncement, there was a pronounced change in our church.

There was a time when you had your everyday clothes and your "Sunday clothes". I see how some people dress going to church and it is sad that they don't have respect enough for the Lord's house to dress nicely. I have also seen the kids dressed better than the parents and that wasn't really saying much. It is sad that people just don't seem to care anymore.

yes, you are absolutely right. People don't seem to care anymore and they have no respect for themselves either. Fashion is needed but one can be fashionable without showing the body.

Where are the parents and why do they allow it? It is disrespectful to flaunt too much skin and there should be some sense of decency and morality.
I don't think people need to necessarily dress up but just look decent.

I agree with you. When you go to the church you have to be neat and decent.
