My son got caught stealing,what should i do?

My 15 year old son has been 'nicking off' from school and was recently caught stealing with his 3 good mates. Should I ban him from seeing them socially after his grounding is over. They have a history of stealing, my boy doesn't. We are new in this city and he doesn't think he'll make other friends. I've got him involved in playing Lacrosse but that's all he'll play and the season is only for 3 months. Help!!!!!!

I hate to say it, but "banning" him from seeing them will probably only make him want to spend more time with them. If you have a close relationship with your son, talk to him. tell him that you are very disapointed in him and ask him why he believes that this behavior is acceptable. You will likly be able to come up with your own solution when you hear his answers. If not, maybe a tour of the local jail would be apropriate. I have no choildren of my own but I have worked with teens who have been in trouble witht the law and prohibiting them from seeing their friends usually doesn't work well at all. Good luck!
