My favorite is Christmas - I love the season and the way people are generally in a happier friendlier state. I know the "reason for the season," but I enjoy all the festivities, celebrations and decorations that go along with the Christmas season.
I do alot of decorating and will have all my outside lights ready to be plugged in on Thanksgiving day - that's the day the outside lights go on - and they will stay on til New Years. My tree goes on the day after Thanksgiving and the house is completely decorated that weekend as well ~ I want to enjoy it all for as long as possible.
My youngest son was born early on Christmas day - he used to get angry that everybody got presents on his birthday ~ lol We do separate the two - Christmas in the morning and his birthday presents/cake at night. He gets a party either before or after Christmas so he won't "lose out."
What is your favorite holiday? How do you celebrate it?

My dear friend ShadyGrove, I hate to burst your bubble but... Christmas is long over already. We are now in March already. :P
But seriously, for me, I like holidays for their festive moods. In Singapore, the Chinese New Year has the most intense of such moods. Christmas would be a second. But I like them both anyway. ;-)

I absoultely love Christmas as well! I love the food, the scents (such as cinnamon, vanilla, and of course, a fresh Christmas tree!), my kids faces light up each day as they are a day closer to presents, the time spent with friends and family, etc. It also warms up a very cold time of year. (By the way, I am very thankful I live in the northern hemisphere where Christmas is part of a cold winter, not like below the equator!) I get in the spirit right after Thanksgiving is over, but I usually try to start my shopping long before that, sometimes even as early as September.

In our house Christmas is definitely the favorite. We used to put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving. Them my wife got allergies and the doctor said no real Christmas trees. So now we set up our fake Christmas tree the first weekend in November. Nobody minds that there is a Christmas tree up for Thanksgiving. My wife collects snowmen so we put those up and they usually stay up all winter. Our Christmas tree comes down after New Years day. We also do a lot of decorating. On Christmas Eve or a day close to Christmas eve we always watch White Christmas. On Christmas morning we read Luke 2 from the Bible about the birth of Jesus.

Mine is Christmas. I usually go for a short trip with the family.
My company will have plant shutdown and you are force to take a week off and with all your co workers off from work, you will have very little email to catch up when you return to work. And with no activities going no in the factory, you will have a good holiday without worry the piles of work waiting for you when you retrun.

Christmas is my favorite also. Especially after I had children. It adds to the excitement. I enjoy the lights and putting up the tree. And I really enjoy seeing my son get so excited as we decorate the tree. And Christmas morning is great too. We get up, open gifts, and then go to my parents for dinner and more celebrating. Usually, I'm ready to go to sleep by 5 or 6p.m.

I think my favorite time of the year is Christmas as well. I love giving and especially when I have the money! I love the Christmas hustle and bustle and my favorite thing to do at Christmas is going to Midnight Mass and watching it on tv when the Pope does it.
The only thing I don't like up here in Canada, not sure if you guys have this down in the States but they don't want you to say Merry Christmas because it's "politically incorrect" I still say it and NOBODY will tell me otherwise if these people get offended that's just too damn bad! This country started off with Christian values and I'd like to keep it that way for me and my family anyway even if these other people don't like it! To each their own and the other cultures that don't celebrate Christmas that's fine, I'm sure they have their own celebrations and that's great but to tell me not to say Merry Christmas because of them forget it!
I sure hope I didn't start a big debate here, I don't mean to but this has been a real pet peeve of mine since they've started all this politically incorrect business!

My favorite is Christmas. I like the story of christmas the most and also of Santa Claus and the main reason is the season.. What a climate it is!! My mind become cool even thinking of that. Children will be having holidays and we all go for a get together. Go to the church for night mass and have fun making cribs and cakes.

I love Christmas...Well even when I think of it I can feel the joy of celebrating Christmas with my family. I usually go to attend the mass with my parents and sister. After that I have family gathering with grandma, sister, aunts, uncles, etc. I love the food also, especially aunt's homemade recipe -macaroni soup, hm yummy yummy. I got a lot of gifts last year from my relatives. Another Christmas is approaching, I can't hardly wait every year.
