Worst Break Ups!

I was reading today about a couple who divorved and the man cut the house into half to take his share...WOW!!!! How far people go to take revange on the other half when they break up and why???? We live in a free world and we should be able to make choices including the type where you don't want to be with someone anymore for whatever reasons...falling out of love, differences and so on - we should be able to do that in a civilized manner and even if we may not remain 'friends' we should be able to part ways without being scared or feeling guilty - after all you have only one life and you should be allowed to do what you want. My fiancee of 5 years broke off with me because he fell in love with another woman; it was devastating but in the end I felt that he has the right to live his life as he wants and I should be able to accept that especially if I loved him.... Let me know about your worst break up story and/or what you think should happen in case of a separation.
