Friends, HELP ME ! I’m so demotivated right now with Mylot – They deleted my discussion some time back, they have reduced earnings and most of my close friends here aren’t too active either – So, how do I keep myself motivated enough to keep starting new discussions and replying to my friends ??? How do you do this ? Pls help !

I guess it will have to begin with a desire to be more active. Once the desire is there then it will be easy. I find that good discussions are hard to find. My friends all have good discussions so I tend to stick with them. I hope you can become more motivated if that is your desire.

the desire should always be there. it's what will keep us going. we will spend long hours in here and will put our brains and hearts to work... and without desire, we can't make it through. however, there are times when we feel frustrated at issues and facts which sometimes slow us down. but that's just life. wherever we are, and whatever we might be doing, there will be points when we feel down. but hope that such feelings won't keep us down. as they say, when down, there's no other way to go but UP.

That sucks.. I never realyl post mmuch myself, I only respond to others. All I need to keep me motivated is to see my $$increase every day.

I used the same apporach as you, respond to others and are motivated by seeing the money increase, but just could not co relate the earning with the number of post per day. Some day I earn more for posting less and some days I get less for posting more... Just could not figure it out.

I know it sounds greedy but the earnings keep me motivated a bit. Also the fact that I do other things online to earn a bit of money keeps things moving and changing so I get to take a break from mylot for a bit and do other things to break things up.

Well I haven't seen you at my discussions and you asked me about some. A food one, internet site one and etc. I am still earning ok and so I figure you just need to do more within guidelines. It is worth it for the pocket money. I look forward to seeing you around and am sure your other friends look for you too. You have to find it within you to participate in this site. I personally hope you stick around. Good luck with this.

Well I think that happens to all of us from time to time Jo. There is a limit to the amount of discussions you can start, and comments you can make, before you are just going over old ground again. Also, I have noticed a lot of "unrest" on MyLot lately - good posters leaving, or feeling that they are being forced to leave, and lots of petty backbiting, and nastiness, that has more place in a school playground than on an adult discussion site, and that makes me sad too. aybe ust take some time out, visit other websites, and do some other things, and hopefuly you will ne back to normal in a week or so.

I say don't feel bad if you don't end up doing so many posts a day- it can really burn you out quickly.

i also feel the same as how you feel. I've been here for like 3 months now and as you can see from my posts, i've only written 500 more... i don't force myself to be totally active here in mylot. i feel like if i do that i would eventually swore down. but i try to write if i have the time and the energy. but if i don't feel like doing it then i don't write. just try to write if your heart tells you too...

basically, money. I know if I post I'll get money. I try to find topics that really interest me so I get posting, but lots of times I forget I only get paid once per thread, and get caught up in arguments or discussions. I try to just stop by a thread once and drop my two cents in the bucket. A lot of times if there aren't any good topics, I'll just answer more trivial or meaningless topics just to get my posts in.

All you have to do is to use the search tab and search a topic that interest you. There are so many topics that is really nice to discuss. There are many on general section. If the hot topics are not that interested i would just think of a tag word and search for the discussions.

There are times that I feel like giving up and have lost all motivations to continue but I can't resist the impulse to check mylot every morning to see whether there is something new and exciting and sometimes there are 2 or 3 discussions worth responding too. What frustrates me a lot is the fact that more and more people are leaving mylot but I'm not ready just yet. I still believe that this is a good forum although there are times when I see proliferation of silly postings, flamed arguments and as if nothing is done about them. Anyway, the only reason that keeps me motivated is I don't want the rogue users to have the upper hand and laugh everytime a good one leaves.

I'm sorry you are losing interest. I get that way sometimes too. I have to take a break every now and then from Mylot to keep from getting burnt out from it. My earnings are not as good as they was when I first started here either but they seem to be on the way back up here recently. If I was you, I would just set myself a goal weekly or daily and try to stick to it with your input here at the site. I was posting about 100 responses per day when I first started here and now I am having a hard time just posting 50 responses. I am spending alot of time going through discussions just to find some I can relate to with quality responses. I just set me a goal to do 50 responses per day and I take me a couple days off on the weekends. Try that and see if it helps you.

I think you should limit yourself to meaningful discussions only and try to concentrate not on quantity but on quality.

I actually have some high and low moments in mylot. Sometimes, I can spend the whole afternoon doing it. At other times, I need to catch up on my momentum so actually start it. The thing that motivates me is actually the payment that they give out. I know it is not that much but at least I can look forward to it.

Motivation is the key word and that kind of word needs feeding. A positive mental attitude has to go with that word so we must think hard to combat the bad things that happen to us and just think of all the good people here at mylot to help us all.

Hello simplyjo, I have to admit that I'm slowly losing my motivation as well. I'm getting tired at times trying to respond as many as I can. My mind isn't working properly because I have to keep thinking about the best sensible response before typing it down. It is just because of some of my close virtual friends here that really motivate me to stay here. Go and look for friends who is not just a part of your list but whom you can really talk to even through private message or emails. All the best.

look to be very frank lets accept this is we are at the disposal of mylot whn it comes to deletin or keepin discussions, but as far as ur refferals are concerened its their own perogative to be active or not and u are a humanbeing who does need socialisin but it should not affect ur attitude, so be a man ,,,if u are a male.,,,,,,,,,,,if female then u dont need any such phrase u already have many super powers, so wake up.

When I registered here, I didnt think of the income I will get, coz its just a small amount. What I like here is the sharing of ideas and opinion. I mostly read on topics that catch my interest, read the comments of the persons who responded to the topics, so from there....I could get ideas and opinion from different persons of which I know would be applicable and beneficial to me and my family. In anything and everything that you do, the most important thing is the enjoyment you get from that, because it is our decision to be here and I guess no one had forced us to be here. So...Jo, wish u will enjoy it here further, not just for the earning and the star rating.
