Over the years I've heard an assortment of names used for the human body parts. rear-end,a**,butt,backside,bottom etc.I have many times laughed myself silly because I would hear a funny nickname for anatomical parts.I went to nursing school and am an emt so to me it's just anatomy and nothing more or less.I have found this is a sourse of embarrassment for some and dirty talk to others. The spirit of this discussion is pure and if you have a problem with it ,it's mummymo's fault...she made me think of it.Sorry Mummymo! With children do/have you used the correct terms for body parts or nicknames? Have you heard any funny ones? My funny is when we lived down south I worked at a store. My hubby came to meet me for lunch with his zipper down.I didn't notice but my boss did.She saidin her southern drawl"Welll Cyruuuuus,Ya alll better close yer barn door befo ya hog gets out."Oh well, you had to be there! I cal a bum a bum and boobs boobs but other parts yes! I always had different names for with my boys , my Mum and Dad are 89 and 88 and when I was small people were embarrassed to call things what they were so I suppose that kinda rubbed off on me , but I can talk freely about ANYTHING to my Mum now and my sons and my grandchildren , I guess I just keep up with the tomes , my granddaughters say i am " cool " their words lol not mine xx

yeah we use nicknames for body parts. Mostly because Ive seen adults who FREAK out when a child calls a part by its true name. it's almost like they think they SHOULDNT know what it's really called. For girls we call it a hoo hoo or a nu nu and for boys its just a wee wee or a buto :) lol buto is filipino for men parts haha and for boobs my kids just say chi chi's hehe

I did. If a child of two or three says the real name for what men have and women don't down there, I might wonder if that child's being sexually abused. If he or she is older, like past eight or ten, then it is okay, but it's not polite to refer to those things in public.

Hello My kids have always used the correct anatomical terms for body parts. Ofcourse it is not public talk but if a kid falls and hurts himself I bumped my pe**s and it hurts ..I would not find that offencive. The nice thing about the world we live in is our differences and how differently we see things. It keeps the world from being boring And we are all enriched by being exposed to other ideas. Thanks for your reply R

Well I don't have any kids yet but when I do wont call the body parts by its name rather I will nickname them when talking to my kids about them. It's far more better than calling the real name.

My children are still small so we usually just say "private parts"! We also say booty for butt! Everything else we use real words!

with my son we tend to use silly nicknames like winkle and minnie lol they are a bit more socially accepted than the correct terms its not that i dont want him saying the right words because that would not bother me but when he goes to school i am sure it would be frowned upon if he used the correct terminology, i think the strangest one i have heard was from the mouth of a friends 3 year old she said that she had a lala and that my son had a dingaling when she was trying to let us all know that he is a boy and she is a girl lol.

Hello At the school that my kids attend teachers use the anatomical terms. Kids here have scince in very low grades and we live in farm country where most kids know a thing or two about animals repoduction and how they breed. My kids have grown up knowing the terms and have been aroung loads of animals. When we used to collect semen from a stallion I wouldn't say " now grab his chacha and put it in the collector" My friend would have laughed their heads off. I think it's cause we are farm folks Thanks R
