The next presidential election in the US should be interesting. My main concerns and issues that will determine my vote are:
ending the war & repair the damage
improving healthcare and education
lowering taxes
being more prepared for natural & intentional disasters
a responsible leader that will listen to the majority of the people, act with keeping consequences in mind, and save our environment (prevent global warming)
I didn't vote for our current president and considering all that has happened, I'm glad. My issues and concerns listed above, will play a huge factor on who gets my next vote!!
So what are your issues and concerns that will steer your vote?

Well I have the main issues that I will be looking at:
1. That the government backs off our personal choices and does not take any more of them. I don't need a super parent telling me know what is bad for me and what isn't.
2. National Health Care system. I'd like to see something come in for this.
3. Gay Rights. Allowing Gays to marry.
4. Continueing to develop Ethenol and other forms of non oil based fuel for our cars etc.
Those are what I'll be looking at the most. I never buy the "we'll lower taxes" bit because it never happens. They might say it but it never happens. Anyway though those items will be the main ones I will be watching for and to see what the candiditates respond with on them.

Thanks so much for your response. I agree that E85 should be eagerly pursued by the US. If Brazil can become independent of foreign oil so can the US. I actually wrote my senators, govenor, state representatives to request that more effort should be taken. They all responded and I found out my state which has no public E85 filling stations does have 2 for state vehicles. My next car is going to be a flex fuel car and I'm going to look into solar for my house.
I urge anyone and everyone to put the pressure on for E85. I would rather put my hard earned dollars into the pocket of our farmers than foreign companies. Again, if Brazil can do it so can we. I also wrote Ford and asked why they build flex cars that are huge and ugly and why they primarily build and export for Brazil and not the US. They responded, but didn't say much.
Thanks again for your response.
