It is because the most of the players now play for the fame and money. When a new player arrive in Indian team he has a great spirit and energy, and often he perform well. Once he is established in the team he loses this mentality and thats because of the super human image created by the media and the huge popularity and large amount of money that comes with fame.
The best way to make the Indian cricket better is to have some strict rules. Like, nobody will be paid more than 2000 Indian Rupees per match. They will not be allowed to do any TV commercials. These changes can do one good thing. Only those players who are interested in playing for India will go for the national team. Nobody will go there for the money.
