I've used the Nintendo DS original quite a bit when they first came out. I wasn't impressed, I kept comparing it to the GBA and didn't see any real point in upgrading. As for the games at that time, they were fun, but not with a screen like the original DS. Had to strain my eyes and make sure it was semi dark or I couldn't see where I was going. When the new DSL came out, I tried it once, and was hooked. They have such a Mac look and feel to it. The games were beautiful with the new light, and rejuvenated colors. The old DS was more comfortable on the hands a little, but after a short time with the lite, I just became used to it, and didn't feel any uncomfortness. After a few hours of playing a few games on the DSL I had to go and get one, and have never looked back. It's true that GBA in the DSL aren't very pleasing, but with a memory adapter, I can put all the games on an SD card, and never use the GBA carts. It's not illegal to use a homebrew version of the game if you own the cart. Same with movies, when you make a back up if you own it, it's not illegal. I love the new stylus in the DSL, and the mic is in a much better place. Do not have to move the DS so much to use it which helps in faster pace games, like Yoshi Touch and Go. Another problem I have with DSL is the fact that it shows so many finger prints. I had to get a skin cover for it (Imminsity) and it still shows fingerprints, but not nearly as much. Also with the DSL and a memory cart, the movies and pictures are enough to send any one to trade their DS for DSL.

I unfortunately never had anything since the first Nintendo system.
However, until the Wii came out, I have never wanted anything since the Sega Genesis system.
What is the DS Like? How many buttons does it have?
The reason I never wanted these things is because I never had anything and could not handle all of the controls. SNES is the most advanced controller I can handle.
Is the DS just like the SNES version of GameBoy?

I have the original DS too. I prefer the DS Lite though, but I hate buying game consoles, so currently I have my boyfriend DS as he bought it and is not interested in it any more. I never had a gameboy, so I don't have the same attachment as you. My sister has a gameboy, but I think I may have played on it for a total of 30 minutes in my life.

I have a DS Lite and like it alot. I've never really used the original DS system so I can't really make any comparisons. Although the lite probably fits in your pocket easier, and that IS the point right?

I like the original DS because when you put a gameboy advance game in it it doesn't stick out unlike the ds lite.

I've none but my DS Lite (Icey Blue colour) is arriving tomorrow and I'm kinda excited. Beside, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance (which was subsequently given to my cousins) I'm pretty much a Sony boy. But I excited bout my DS Lite coz it looks cool and pretty, brighter screen and finally I can enjoy some fun games

I had the original DS and traded it in a few months ago for the DS lite. I have to say the very bright screen pretty much sold me on it. The games look way better on the DS lite.
