An Unforgetable Day

Life is a journey equipped with harships, disappointments, success, comradeship etc. To attain freat achievements in life is an honor and to despair is cowardice. I have encountered many dilemmas and hopefully I have resolved them. Here is an account of an incident that has occupied a memorable place in my heart. Due to my physical disabilities I have never been able to qualify for any sports events. But on that particular day I had qualified for the room race. It was even more surprising when I qualified for the final race. The Sports Day would commence in a matter of seconds, and before I knew it, I was posing before the starting line. The gunshot was heard. My muscles strained, and my features tensed as I heaved my legs to commence the race. I urged myself as the scorching and blazing heat stung my sking. The finish line was wavering like a mirage. In desperation gathering my utmost strength I tore to the finish line. My heart was in my mouth. An announcement rang through my ears. My heart leapt with joy. I had won! My joy knew no bounds and my heart danced merrily. I was complimented on my effort. A wave of pride surged through me. I was proud to have achieved such a reward.
