Of course it's possible. Anything is possible.
Those weapons exist, and as long as they do there is the possibility of them being used.
Will they be used? I hope not, but the possibility is always there.

I don't really think nuclear war is a viable fear anymore. Anyone who has the ability to launch nuclear weapons knows that the consequences would be mass destruction and global in nature and no country wants to be the one to initiate that. Nowadays it is germ warfare we need to worry about, it can be more directed towards a specific location and altered to achieve desired results. So you don't have to be worried about dying from radiation poisoning, just dying from a cold. Sorry so grim.

I really believe that it will never happen.
I believe the world may see a nuclear explosion caused by terrorists one day, but not an all out nation against nation nuclear war.
The reason is simple...Every super power knows that a nuclear war will pretty well make the world uninhabitable and effect will destroy it. So, what is there to gain for anyone?
I believe eventually we will destroy our earth through stupidity in affairs concerning global warming that will ultimately mean the end for us.
Present generations have no regard for future generations, and this will be our downfall.
