I used to camp a lot in my late teens abd early twenties. I took my daughter on her first camping trip when she was 8 years. It was very successful. A few months after I met my second husband, we decided to take all 3 children camping. My daughter was 9, my partners son was 9 and his daughter 4. You just wouldn't believe the drama, one after another event occurring. The 4 year old was completely dependant on other people for everything... including going to the toilet. Ans her and her brother fight like cats and dogs. On the second day there, we had items stolen from our tent. On the second night, the 9 year old boy, woke up half the camping site with terrible screams at 2.00 am. He thought a stranger was in his tent. On the third night there was a big storm in the early evening. As we were camping on a rise, the strong wind gusts blew into the tents, snapping a main support pole in half. I had to take the children up to the camp kitchen, while my partner stood in the rain repairing the pole. I vowed then, never to go camping with my step children again. That was years ago. Guess what? I am camoping with them this Easter.

Have a wonderful day, I am sure they have changed with time. My most exciting camping related adventure was about eight years ago. We actually were only making a day trip. We had several young adults with us, my two kids and friends as well. It was a lake trip to paddle around with our new canoe. To make a long story short, the camp rangers had to come around and shoo everyone out of the park, a tornado was approaching and there was no shelter for that kind of a disaster anywhere in the park! We packed in record time!!!!

The best camping experience I had was about 10 years ago. A buddy and I went into the mountains fishing and found this amazing spot to camp. He had a truck and camper so it made it even better as it came equipped with a stove. In an entire we only saw two people. One was a game warden and one was another fisherman. It was great. Fishing all day and having fresh mountain rainbow for dinner...

We camp yearly at a swap meet/flea market. Each year is different. First year it was hot in the day and rainy or humid at night. Got really cold at pack up time and daughter had only warm thing to wear. The next year was hot and dusty only was nice at night. Miserable days with the dust settling on everything. The next was the down pours daily. Had to keep lifting the roof to let the water run off. A few tents were lost in the woods area. The next year we did not go. Had a housefire and so took a bye year. Then we went the next year and it rained so much we needed an ark. Had to buy straw and thought about making bricks. It was too cool and soggy to sell much that year. The next was kinda nice. Not too hot, not raining, not cold at all. That was the ok year.. Then we had another year that was windy and the shelves would wobble and sometimes fall. Things were skittering everywhere. That was tough. Then we had the year where the people behind us ran the generator that they brought, I thought we might not wake up that next morning. Sure was something to be concerned about. Told the front office. Don't know what it will be this year. Only thing we have experience is a tornado or blizzard and hope we don't.

In my teens and early twenties, I scarcely have no chance to enjoy camping with my partners and I am now 22 years old. What a pity to my youth. Nevertheless, thanks to my parents, we reside beside the sea where there are lot of boats. From spring to winter , I can go boating and enjoy seafood as much as I like. That's wonderful. Day after day , I owns the camping life. But all the same I expect to go for hiking with my girlfriend or my colleages . Going to mountains for sunrising and sundowning is all along my dreams. I hope the dream can come true in near days. Fianlly , give my best regards to your cute chirdren.

OH, we love camping although we haven't been in a few years due to work scheduals and lack of money. Worst camping trip ever: Myself and 3 kids, girls 10 and 11, and my son 5. We went to Kentucky having made reservations at a camp ground we found in the AAA book. Well, the camp ground was horrid, showers didn't work, pool was closed by the health department, and the grounds were nothing but dirt. First night there were tornados - and me with 3 kids in a tent. The second night thunder storms, mind you we were on the top of a mountain and it wasn't a storm above us, we were right in the clouds. Decided for the first time to cut our trip short and headed home in a down pour. You couldn't see 20 feet in front of you and 2 times we had to stop on the road because of not being able to see anything. When we got out of the rain I pulled in a rest area and while the kids ran around I adjusted the tarp that was covering the camping stuff on top of the car - 50 gallons of water poured out. It was kinda funny seeing people's expressions when they saw all the water coming out.

i loved to camp. all of my life growing up my parents took us camping, and when we got married and had kids that is the only vacation we could afford. the kids still talk about all the fun we would have sitting around the campfires. nothing like it! now we don't camp anymore, but when we have a bon fire, it reminds me of all the fun that we had,

One camping trip that stands out in my mind is when we where kids. Myself and my brother where asleep in the tent trailer. It was May 24th weekend in Canada. I am from Newfoundland where the weather is very unperdictable. It was snowing slightly. I think my parents and all their friends where having a campfire and having a few drinks. Well, when my parents came back to the trailer my brother wasn't in the trailer. They where freaking. They went outside and found him on the ground sleeping. He feel between the canvas and the tin of the trailer some how and never even woke up. The snow didn't even bother him.

My parents used to take me camping when I was really young. My baby sister used to sleep in an inflatable raft, because that way she couldn't crawl out over the sides in the middle of the night. I loved it. I still love it. I'm not sure I would ever do it myself with small children.

My camping trip was way long ago, back in grade school. I enjoyed it because it was my first, and my last time as well. Enjoyed the bonfire, the sharing of food, the building of tents, everything!!!

I had not been camping since I was kid, so I thought it might be pretty bad when our son had his first Cub Scouts camping weekend. But we had a great time! Other then it being very cold (October). Me and my husband went with him and he had a good time and that made the aching back and muscles for a week after worth it. I learned that the ground is harder now that I'm older! We are planning to go to the next camping weekend this spring, but I will have an air mattress this time! I think if you make up your mind too have a good time no matter what, you will. I had a book (and gameboy) tucked away in my backpack in case I got bored, but never got a chance to use either one.

Well my first time camping I was like 5 and my sister 2. I dont recall much just what my parents said. My sister threw up and then I did on the way up to Yosemite. We used to do Yosemite a lot growing up. Its about 8hrs from where we used to live and the trip would start early in the morning so we could get a good spot. I dont recall the last time we went but I had to be in my teen! We havent camped since then. Sure we have rented out "cabins" (actually just houses rented out called that). My sister and me have "camped" different times for the christian music festival in this area Spirit West Coast. This year is the first in years we wont. Neither of us got jobs in time to secure a good spot. So now we are just gonna drive up each day for 3 days end of May to Del Mar about 30 mint from our new place. I love camping though. But please let me do with with an airmattress. Last year we tried this at the music fest and it was great! I slept like a baby the first night. Then again I was going on 2hrs of sleep and I slept like 12hrs that night I would have slept on the ground all the same *L* ;)

I remember my first camping I was 16 years old. I had a lot of fun, we stayed in this old house no electric and water there was a creek close by and went hiking a found a cave. That's the only camping that I ever went.

That was a cool one. My unforgettable camping experience was when I was on my 6th grade in elementary. The site was near the beach shore but our teachers would not let us take a swim on the beach not until on the last day at camp. When the day came, off we swam to the sea. And the funniest was, I was laughing at my classmate because I saw her front tooth came out and fell in the sea. She covered her mouth and though it was kinda funny, I know she was embarassed, so I swam under water and tried to look at her tooth too. Unfortunately, our dive was not succesful. And so she went home with a lacking tooth in the front. aNd until now, we laugh everytime we can remember it. :)
