Can't say that I have. With talking to the super and walking around and seeing what the place is like. Checking out the living quarters and local store. You can see what it might be like once you are there. You didn't say what was horrible about it. Crime, dirt, bugs? what? Anyway, I trust it has not happened again.

The place I live in right NOW is the worst ever. It's a transitional place for us, as we just sold a house 1200 miles away and needed some place to stay while we sold it, before we could look for the next place. So we are looking for new homes, and a big piece of land. In the meantime, the house we are in is a rental, and it's too small, the neighborhood is pretty trashy and low class, and I can't wait to get out.

yep, three years ago i married my hubby and moved to the town he lived in. My daughter and I were miserable there. We moved out of the rental house (which was down right nasty) and into an apartment that was much nicer but i hated being there. I had no friends, my family was two hours away. and I was a SAHM. Oh and we only had one car So i couldn't go anywhere. We finally moved back Home about two years ago. And then of course moved again about three months ago. But we love it here. It's a very small town but close to my family (my brother lives 1/4 of a mile from us). And we are not to far from things to do.
