Grr...cheaters are still rampant on myLot!

There is a group of volunteers here at myLot who routinely watch for cheaters and spammers and report them to myLot admin. After you report someone, put mlpd in your tags so they can watch that person and make sure the abuse stops. I agree with you, it is frustrating to have your hard work copied and pasted and credit given to someone else. We need to stay vigilant and stop the cheaters to keep this site the intelligent and fun site it has been.

Awww, greengal baby...you're not alone in having this CHEATERS messing with the beauty of our discussion. I also encountered one recently on my own thread. And I was like grrrr...I quickly put up a post and even have lots of mispelled words because my hands are shaking with rage. The only way we can do is to report this cheaters at once. So they can be wipe out completely from mylot. There are too many discussions posted here and mylot can't possibly check everything at once.

I may have to watch my discussions closer. I don't think I've seen any of this on my pages. Least not that I know of. Thanks for the warning etc greengal. I definitely would report this if I see it on my pages or duplicates of my discussions. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

There are a couple people who never really comment to a discussion. Instead they copy and paste a recipe in the comment area. They never addd a personal note or anything. Have you seen them?

I didn't know there really was a mylot police, I should be part of that but guess I am voluntarily - whenever I see something "not right" I report it. I do love playing detective though and tracking down "cheaters". Now you have me concerned though. There have been a few times I have copied a portion of a discussion to my response to respond to that particular portion. I do put it in quotes and add my response but hope that doesn't constitute cheating.

Did you report these people?

That is disgusting , I haven't seen it yet myself , how lazy can some people be , we have to think long and hard to get a good discussion subject , I hope they get thrown out on their ears xx

When I first started on Mylot cheating was rife on here and it was so blatant. I rely on my friends sometimes to inform me that someone has cheated, so that I can report them. It doesn't do anyone any favours, and it is so pointless as all cheaters WILL be found out. I find it strange that some cheaters have high points, so obviously they have worked hard or been on the site for some time will jeopardise their accounts by cheating this way. Oh well!

Oh I know they are I have spotted them to I am glad that you have reported them, I had to report a few People again to. It is just unbelievable But we have to admit though it is not as bad as it used to be.

I just hate that. Whenever I see it I report it to. had it in a fe wof my own as well, even if not lately what I know of atleast. I always read and rate - that is a good wayto keep track if them.

Oh my goodness what is wrong with some of the members hare don't they have a mind of their own. Yes that is dreadful and I am quite sure that mylot will deal with them and delete their accounts.

well, yours isn't the first observation i've seen this weeks, another of my friend's discussions got completely 'hijacked' as he put it. I checked it out, and he was right, his whole discussion except the title and the first line had been copied and pasted, it was so surprising. of course since we have a system where we know when the discussions were started, it's easy to know and to prove that you were the one who started it first, there's no way that these cheaters can get away with it, i just find it hard to think that they are so stupid because they think they can get away with it, without us finding out, they don't even have the intelligence to atleast paste it on a different website, which is probably why they couldn't come up with a discussion of their own in the first place, well, as long as your friends know, it's alright, but of course you are free to report these cheaters to my lot, i'm too lazy to go through all the trouble though, i don't know about u.

I hadn't seen this until a little while ago. I had just posted a discussion, and before I even finished filling out the tags I was alerted a new email. It was my first response. When I read it I was amazed to see that it was part of my own discussion! Of course I reported it and rated it, then checked his profile only to find more of the same. I reported a couple of them and I see they have already been removed. While going through the rest of the discussions he had replied to, I found that over half were copied, and those that weren't were usually nothing more than a couple of words.

Other people so seldom say anything I truly agree with, and even if I did happen to find myself in great agreement with someone I'd feel far too uncomfortable to copy & paste another's words.

I haven't been able to spend much time here & it really is GREAT to know that there are very vigilant members out here who are really concerned (& actually do something about it!) Golly, as long as a person is spending time here in mylot, why can't they spend it honestly & not waste other people's time in the process?? I guess that some people are just plain selfish. Hopefully that your action would at least tap at the conscience of these cheaters & they sure do deserve to be banished! wow...didn't even know that there was an mlpd! Yay for you!

Thank you.!!!I found a couple of well. I think they are using it to avoid just saying that they agree. No matter I still reported them for cheating.

its sad that this happens allover the world. you can go where you want, there are always cheaters on the road. i am glad, we have the mlp here and i support the where i can.

thats good what you did... you have helped us all.. we appreciate it... i am sure i will also get really irritated when i see something like that..i have read other discussions which said there are so much of spam in here.. i have my self seen a few irritating responses which were completely irrelevant to the topic..lets make mylot clean as soon as possible... all of us have to do it together.. right?
