World is really full of mysteries, and that's for sure. I may have heard of it but I do not have any detailed information regarding them.

Legendary Times book - This may have the information a discussion leader was looking for,
There are several secret societies. From the previous post there is information on the net however I personally don't know or am not aware of one that is a freemason. From Legendary Times books here is an excerpt: SKU: SKU349 Freemasons have been accused of everything from conducting clandestine satanic rituals to masterminding a worldwide conspiracy for planetary domination. The order's members - which have included Sir Isaac Newton, John Wayne, Bill Gates, some of America's most popular entertainers, and 25 U.S. presidents - insist they merely share a bond of brotherhood, service, and charity. It's the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world and even figures prominently in such modern bestsellers as The Da Vinci Code, yet Freemasonry is still terribly and consistently misunderstood. In Freemasons, H. Paul Jeffers delves into Masonic history to reveal the surprising and controversial truths behind this ancient and secretive order, from its mystery-shrouded origins in medieval Europe through its rise in America, where Benjamin Franklin founded the first lodge. Today, some four to five million Freemasons worldwide pledge to live their lives in accordance with principles of morality, charity, and loyalty - both to fellow Masons and to the order itself. But what exactly does Freemasonry entail, and what happens behind the lodges' closed doors? Does this help you?

Freemasonry is not what some authors portray, who are out there just to make a sensational story weaved out of a society with secrets. Like you have a bank account which you'll like to protect, similarly Freemasons practice some signs to distinguish themselves from others. Freemasons are guided by strict morals and standards which stands them apart from the common. Freemasonry hence is not a Secret Society but a society with secrets. It is a matter of great pride to every Freemason to be considered as one. It is only after strict examination that one is accepted. Freemasonry has been linked to Paganism which I didn't find at all after so many years. What I do find is that I am a better peson than what I was because of the highest moral discipline that e have to constantly practice.

I'm not sure if you're referring to one specific group or secret society in general but I find it sorta funny how when a topic of secret society comes up, it automatically sorta goes towards freemasonry... I am a member of Freemason & I'm proud of it... Contrary to popular belief, I haven't been part of any process, weather it's about taking over the world or Satan worshiping... Like someone above said, it's about strict code of morals... For the lack of better argument, boy scouts have their own handshakes, phrases, signs, secrets & code of conducts... That fact alone hardly makes them anything bad...
