Why Bad Things Happen to bad people?

i have confronted with most of my friends that they have been so unfortunate even if they have been good in their lives. Why do these things, happen to good people, they were responsible enough to elude possible misfortunes and yet, they could never get away from it....but it seems that bad people are getting fortunate... i want your insights.. is it even fair?
