According to some studies, prolonged exposure to this device can cause mind problems.. An example, here i the Philippines, most people are using cellphones, many are students, according to studies, some student are being low in spelling(mis-spelled or abbreviated), grammar (interchanging proper word places), using different word (ex: 'me' instead of 'I').

This poses a challenge to teachers. Parents should also educate their children in the use of cellphones. But let's not forget that problems in spelling and grammar has been there even in the absence of cellphones. This problem is not caused by cellphones. Rather, it is worsened by it.

yes! you're right. But, in some instances a graduate or a professional really messed up with spelling / grammar now a days. In my daily work, I handled many personal data to be encoded, many of those are of a professional. For example, can a graduate of education, wrongfully or can we call it accidentally placed erroneous sentence in their Resume?

Yes, it really has its disadvantages in using cellular phones and also computers. And excessive usage of mobile phones sometimes leads to decline in the focus to study.

I have heard the suggestions relating to mobile phones, and the same arguments were used against microwaves leaking radiation. This appears to be a common practive were fairly recent technologies are concerned, and I do not take these issues too seriously.
You may as well consider the danger of televisions or music systems since they do produce a level of emission.

That's ridiculous, as are most studies. There's a study for everything proving anything one way or another. Studies show playing video games excessively means children will be less athletic or social. Studies show video game abstinence yields less creative people. Cell phones cause brain cancer. I'm a firm believer in the cliche "Don't believe everything that you read."
I do think email, text messages, instant messages, etc. promote laziness (i.e. abbreviated words, usage of acronyms, etc.), but is this done because people are stupid? No, it's a matter of convenience.

I think the mispelling and grammer goes to all the txt talk, and shouldnt be just credited to cell phone users but computer users too. We all use the short "G2g" Or "ttyl" stuff, and more and more kids are getting into the computer or txt lang and forget how to spell since its not required to do it over the phone or computer.
