I always hated hearing the phrase "Boys are better than girls" because most little kids believe this saying and it lowers their confidence. Everyone knows this is not true entirely. What do you think?

Firstly I see you are new to myLot, so welcome. I hope you have many happy hours here.
In all my 70 years I don't think I've heard that saying. I thought you might be from an Asian country where this is sadly often thought, but I see you are from USA.
Many years ago a son was always greatly desired, because everyone wanted an heir to inherit any fortune, but in particular to carry on the family name. In some countries today sons are considered more important because they are workers and will earn money, and in some religions boys are considered more valuable than girls.
In western cultures I do not see any major distinctions between boys and girls - apart from continuing the family name. I have five wonderful sons, but I would never say boys are better than girls.
Boys have their good and bad points, and so do girls. Boys and girls differ in their growth patterns, and while some feminists might not like it being said, they do differ in their physical abilities.
I do not believe boys are better than girls - or that girls are better than boys. We need both. Both have a place in our society, and indeed without both, society wouldn't last very long!
