I worked in a pizzaria at one time. You put the raw pizzas on a rotating belt that went into a massive... stove, there was hot wires above and below it to cook it fully. It took about 20 minutes to go from one side of the belt to the other. But it was really fun to watch, and better to eat.
You can bake pizza in a regular oven though. I get best results when i dont use a pan but place the pizza directly on the wire racks. Just make sure your dough is stiff.

in restaurants, they have this belt wherein you put your pizza there and watch it pass along until it goes out to the other end. since we dont have that at home, we cook pizza by heating it through the oven. we buy those pizza dough sold in supermarkets and pizza sauce that are also available now in grocery's the rest, like meat- peperonni and beef, cheese and veggies are all done at home.
sometimes, if we dont have available pizza dough, we buy bread loaves and use it as substitute. :)
