There's so many different little nick nacks, decorations, pictures, etc, that always say this, but when a person tries to follow those dreams most of the time, something's always standing in your way.
More people that i know than not have one dream or another that they want more than anything, but can't seem to make it come true...
I was once told by a relative to follow my dreams, and then when i tried, it was thrown in my face, something that happens to everyone time and time again right?
So i'm asking what's your number one dream, something besides winning the lottery, something we all i'm sure wish for on a daily basis, but something that if it came true for you, you'd be thrilled, extatic, lost in the moment...
I think for me, my dream, would be to live somewhere in the woods, in a home that's not too big or too small, with a few kids, and never have to worry from one day to the next if my bills are going to be paid...
So what's yours...?

Well my dream did come true, it took many years but it did come true and changed my life completely....
When I was a teenager I saw singer on TV and I just thought he was the most beautiful person I had ever seen, I became obsessed, I went to his concerts the hundred of other fans, the first concert I went to he went along and took the hands of his fans as he sang when he touched mine I git the biggest electric shock(maybe that was a sign) years passed and ne never left my thoughts, I had one boyfried say he was the luckiest man alive for me to feel that way but the unluckiest because he would never know...years passed and he made a few come backs, on one of those I actually got to talk to him, he gave me his number but me being so shy I wasn't game enough, but I did start going to a few little gigs that he had and he started to come up and talk to me then one day he rang me up and asked me out, I felt so close to this guy I spent 18 wonderful months in his world of music but he wasn't really well, 18months of a completely different life a dream come true, and then one morning he passed away in my arms, it took years for my dream to come true but it did and I always tell people that dreams do come true but don't me like me and waste time...we don't always have it....

Your completely right, that's something that not enough people do, and more people should listen to.
There's a song out that i love listening to, it just totally makes sence, it's called Live like you were dying By Tim McGraw. It's awesome.
Thanks Hun, It's nice to share some stories, gets people thinking!

My dream as a child was to become a military officer, and take part in wars, I wanted to be the head of all military organisations in my country, that i learned now is to become the president, LOlI dont suppose i can throw my future after a crazy dream like becoming the president.Well it would be great and I would do great if I were elected but then Im not sure i'll pursue it after all these hard years, maybe i'll pursue my later dreams of finding my perfect gal and settling in some nice place with a handsome salary, all i gotta do is simple, work hard now at college:)

Well though it seems the government thing might not be such a wonderful idea, in one way, and a great idea in another, your second dream is a nice dream. Keep going for it! Never know what life'll throw you.
Keep working, you'll get where you want to be if you work at it!
Thanks!

That is a really great dream :) And i know what you mean about finding it hard to get it. Alot of people dream to high or dream hoping it will just happen but it is the sort that requires ALOT of effort.
My dream is very simular to yours. My most important dream would be to have a medium sized house, nothing to big but big enough to have everything you need, with a careing and kind husband and some kids (no more than 3 for sure!) and to be a stay at home mum looking after the kids, house and husband.
I aleady have the great guy, he is the most amaizing person i have ever met. So even if thats all i had, just to be able to wake up next to him and come home after worked to him would be enough to satisfy me, which who knows in the next 2 years, as we already talk about houses and moving closer.
I would also love to be an higly wanted photographer, but as long as doing it as a hobby at least, ill be happy :)

My dreams are to do something great for humanity at large(perhaps through mass media, television, etc, writing) and for my intimates. I want to be financially free and live in good health, marry, have at least four children, live in a large mansion in the good part of town and retire happily. I'm glad you know what your dreams are. So many people "think" they do, but they're really just stumbling along. My advice: Don't be afraid to live life.

thank you for that advice, it's really some of the best advice i think a person could achieve, to get where they want in life.
I do think i know what i want, though i think it's because it's been my main goal my whole life, and has never changed, though varried a little with age.
Thanks Again hun!

My dream has changed over the years. My first dream was to raise my children to be productive in society and give back more than they receive from life. I am proud to say I have raised three very productive adults that are striving through all the trials and tribulations that young people face today. My success to achieve this goal personally was God and his strenght through the tough times. We as a family had many tough times we faced over the years. Lose of jobs, not the most attractive place to live when we first started out as a young married couple.
We achieved for the most part a good life and were able to give our children a sense of worth and to stive for what they truly believe in. I am proud of all three of our children and still get joy in seeing them achieve every day as they grow in their careers and relationships.
My dream now is a new career into something total different in what I have been doing for the past twenty years. I have been a mortgage underwriter and done all aspects of the mortgage industry.
I want to work with young people and give some life experience back to help young people that have not had a solid family base. This will require a huge pay cut and going back to school to achieve this goal. I have another twenty years to work and want to do something now that gives me satisfaction and a sense of worth to give back what I have been blessed so many times to receive.
How will I accomplish this dream by NEVER letting anyone tell me it can't been done. My secret is to invision myself in success of achieving and a goal I set for myself to achieve this goal. With God all things are possible. Just find the strength to belief in yourself and fill your life with positive people that help enforce this positive thinking. I know it sounds easy but it is not. Like my mom used to tell me if was easy everyone would be successful. With dreams come sacrifices along the way that make us even stronger to reach the ulimate goal we all are trying to reach. KEEP THE FAITH.....

same dream as your's, you look a little too young for unfortunately though, also, I don't think I could handle having very small kids (under 5). I would add having a loving and passionate realtionship with lots of trust. AND, plenty room in those woods to play, maybe a blacksmith shop and workshop, sawmill, whatever I felt like making, an orchard too. And a butterfly garden and a nice glassed in porch WITh a HUGE fireplace. I would build it so it would be strong and nice, and not too expensive.
Ignore what people tell you about not doing your dreams. Sometimes you have to wait. SOmetimes youhave to be flexible and change em a little. Just lean into them and make them happen. Anyone who ever accomplishes anything gets told why its stupid , unrealist, impossible, etc. Ofetn they say they did that great thing BECASE they didn't know they weren't supposed to be able to do it.

Well, thanks for the comment on looking too young, but first, i don't think your ever too young to follow your dreams, secondly, i'm 18, married, and off to a great start, so sorry about that...
You sound like you have your priorities in order, and your off to a great start yourself, a lot of your ideas are beautiful, and something that would definitely be wonderful one day.
Hope you can make that come true!

this is because fulfilling your dreamns doesnt mean everything is going to be easy. there's always something to go on your way to test you if you really deserve to have that dream.

Honestly, my dream right now is small. I want to be a Mountain Ranger, working up in the crisp fresh air every day.
I want to be able to do my bit for nature, and help to continue the regrowth program at Cypress Provincial park in Vancouver.
I find that if you have a dream, the best thing to do is to break it down into smaller steps that are easier to complete and reach for.

my dream is about like yours. I wish that some day we will not have to worry about not spending money or paying the bills. We have the house (its not in the woods) and the children). I think my other dream is for my children to succeed in life and for them to be happy.

Good point, All that movie stuff about following your dreams are all inflated and exagerated to seem so wonderful. But lets be real here and lets say that most of the time your dreams aren't answered and you dont achieve some of your most important goals. But when you do accomplish your dreams then i can imagine it is the best feeling in the world.
