I have seriously had enough with this "N" word. I can not believe that black people are still so offended by it... There isn't one black person that was a slave when all of that was still going on but one mention of the "N" word can put you in some serious business. It is completely ignorant that black people can only call themselves n*gger... What is up with that? First of all they hate white people calling them that but when it comes to eachother n*gger is like calling eachother buddy. Even though white people gave them the name they love to call eachother... doesn't make any sense does it? I have only known one black person that isn't offended by the word n*gger and that is my girlfriend, ONLY because she grew up around white people so it doesnt make a difference to her. I think this damn racism needs to stop and the word n*gger shouldnt be so damn offensive... I am so mad I can't even think about what I want to type.

I agree with a lot of what you say, and of course anyone who claims to have been a slave would have to be much older than I am. There is nothing wrong with the word itself, and it has been a part of the english language for a long time. The only problem is that the word was used in a derogatory manner for so long that it is now considered synonymous with racist attitudes. In this world of political correctness we are not even supposed to notice whether a person is black or white, although I fail to see how that could be possible.

You can't really group all "black" people together. Not all blacks like or approve of being called ni66er. Many of use do still find it just as offensive because it does mean ignorance. On the other hand, most of todays 20 something and under generation really doesn't mind as long as it isn't coming from someone of another race. WHY? who really knows? It bothers some and other's it does not. Most older black people don't play that. Like 30 and up...so again, you can't group all of us together because i promise you plenty of us don't want to be called that whether you're black, white, purple, green or yellow.

That makes sense. I shouldn't have said black people as a whole. I know that there has to be some that don't care, then some that are in between and some that are completely against it!
