Some girls like big, extravagant proposals and some like much more low-key ones. Since I do not know your girlfriend, I don't know what advice to give as far as that goes. One thing that I think all girls would agree on is that you should do it somewhere that is meaningful and romantic to the two of you. Maybe the place where you first met or first kissed, or where you went on your first date. Maybe the most special place for the two of you is curled up in bed. If so, why not do it there? I also think that you should be prepared to make a little "speech" about how wonderful she is and how you would love for her to be your wife. Of course, it's not necessary, but what girl doesn't like to feel adored by her soon-to-be husband? Good Luck!
