Many of you know I have terminal MS (multiple sclerosis). This morning I was called by a specialist who selected me to start a new treatment that will hopefully give me the strength to let me walk again. Maybe in a year or two - no more wheelchair! I signed up for this experiment a few years ago and so far it has a 60% success rate, So keep praying for me and keep your fingers crossed that I will be among those 60%!

I'm glad they think they might be able to tell. I would say that at this time, you are probably ready to try anything. It sounds good and good luck to you. I will pray and keep my fingers crossed that you will improve. It would be so great for you.

Hi Bee,
You don't hear to many of us with terminal MS. Did they label it terminal? or use a different name?
What is th ename of this new treatment? just curious if I know anything about it. If it is new I could pass this info along if I hear others asking about it.
I hope it does help, and one day you can get out of that wheelchair. I have heard stem cell transplants have done well with those going down fast with MS. Not sure if it is FDA approved or whatever they need to do to get it passed. I just know of a man here in WA state who had it, and fought to recieve it because of insurance issues.
This was like 8 yrs or so ago, and the last time I saw him he was walking, no tremors, and doing fairly well.
Sending good thoughts your way, and prayers that all goes well.

There is no cure for MS. It is considered a terminal illness. That can be 2 days, 2 years or 30 before you die, but unless a cure or slow down treatment is found, the number of years you have left are very dehabilitating. I've had it for 20 years and am now slowing going blind, cannot work full or even part time and am permanently in a wheelchair compared to hiking, swiiming, shopping and getting only the occasional fatigueness and tripping over my own feet I suffered 10 years ago.

That is great! When do you start? What is the med? MS is just the most annoying disease. I was dx'd 10 years ago. Even though I am walking, alot of my firends are not. I pray this works for you.
