Walking had help to kept my weight for the last three years. I used a pedometer to keep track of the number of steps that I made in a day and that really help me to keep my weight constant.
My average number of steps per day is about 7500 steps as I drive to work, and my target is 10,000 per day and I will make a point to make the 10,000 steps and had been wearing the pedometer with me for three yuear now and it alway with me the moment I wake up till I go to bed.

Hi Sunshine4,
I know an older gentleman who, while watching his diet, walked two miles per day. His walking route had some moderate uphill climbs, and he walked it faithfully, every day. After two years he lost a little over a hundred pounds.
Two miles was really hard for him at the start, because he was quite overweight. But, it got easier. He rarely, if ever, exceeded the two miles because that's all he had time for. Imagine his results if he had incorporated other exercise, or increased his distance?
I know for myself personally, if I gain a few pounds, I can get them off with a commitment to brisk walking. It does work! My walking path is .99 miles. So, two spins around the trail and I feel good. Some days I'll walk faster than others. For me, the key is to adhere to the distance, and to do it every day.
If I tried to walk faster, yet skimp on the distance, I might miss the opportunity to throw the ball for my ballcrazy dog, or I might miss a beautiful wildflower. I guess you could say that my walk is not only for weight control, it's also for peace of mind and enjoymnent. Three objectives for the price of one ... can't beat that.
If you do pick up the walking habit ... good luck, enjoy it and "Happy Trails".

Yes I also feel adjusting calories along with regular walking helped me reduce weight.
U dont cut your food intake in a massive way. Then u are prone to go back on an eating binge suddenly.
1.Try to vary your menu in a significanty way. Let it not be monotonous. Then u are prone to eating binge
2.Dont allow too much gap between eating times.
3.Drinking a glass of water just before u start eating and eating slowly may also help reduce overeating
4. Try reducing just 2 mouthfulls of food for a week or 10 days initially in each meal.( I found this very effective) My appetite started adjusting in just 10 days.
