That must be a great experience you had for your school days. Too bad for me though for not having the chance to experience being an exchange student. I've heard of some great stories from exchange students, but unluckily it's not really common here in the Philippines, or maybe in the school where I went for studies. But had I been given the chance, I would surely grab the opportunity and would cherish the memories and life lessons I'll get from being an exchange student. I know it's fun and challenging experience rolled into one as living with another family wouldn't be that easy. :P

I think living with another family was the best part of it because they are still a part of my life and extra 'family' for my kids. It's such an intesne experience you can't help but bond.

Wow, you're so lucky. I always wanted to be one, but my parents would not let me. I wish I had used the study abroad program while I was in college, but I never got around to it. I'm so jealous of people that got to do that.

I've done the Gaeltacht immersion program but didn't get to go to another country like you for school. Sounds like a great experience!

Was never an exchange student. Sadly I never really had the chance in school. The entire 4 years I was there we were going through massive reconstruction that ate up most of the budget. Needless to say, they weren't spending a lot of money otherwise.
