Do you have a best friend? What made you choose such person as your best friend?
Not all of us has someone whom we could consider as our best friend. I grow up always having a best friend. While I was in primary grade, I had someone I considered as my best friend every year. In high school, I had only one best friend all throughout and also while in college but they are different people. Now I consider my sister as my best friend but I have some very close friends who has been with me through thick and thin. The best friends that I had changed all throughout the years and one thing that I noticed that they are mostly people whom I had a meeting of minds with and who share the same values and likes and dislikes.

I always had best friends when I was growing up, sometimes more than one. In my late teens, early 20s, mid 20s, late 20s, I always had someone I could think of as my “best friend”. Since I reached my 30s and now even late 30s, I have several people I think of as my closest friends but not really one specific person who is my best friend out of everyone. I could say my husband is the one person that I share pretty much all my problems and happiness with so you could say he’s my best friend, he thinks my mum is my best friend because I get on so well with her and tell her pretty much everything as she does with me. So in answer to your question, I don’t have A best friend but have several very good friends who are close to me in slightly different ways.

That was what i was just talking about when I said that some people doesn't have a best friend because they are blessed enough to have several very close friends. My sister is the same. Eversince I didn't know of any best friends but she has lots of very close friends.

Thats absolutely correct thought that best frnds are those with whom u can realte ur minds. I hav best friends throughout my life. I dn't choose them, they become frnds automatically. If v hav smthng that connects, v r bound 2 become frnds. While i m stdying in college rite now, but still i ve got my best frnds of school arnd. They will always be there. And herein college also, i hav my bunch of best frnds. But there is a big difference between my frnds frm school and frm college. But it hardly matters, since all of them lie in my best frnds list.

Yes, I have a best frined. But we only get the time to talk once in a while. She is so busy with her work. The last time we talk personally was last year. I didn't even remember the date due to the time lapse.
She is my best friend because she acepted me whole-heartedly. She didn't judge me for what I have or don't have. She is a simple but real person. I never have to pretend wheneve she's around. She really brings out the best in me. Sad thing is we seldomly talk because we are both busy with our career. Honestly, I miss her so much. Part of the reason why I'm sad is because she's not around. I miss the old times that we're together just talking everything under the sun. We even stayed up very late at night and ended up early in the morning the next day just talking with each other. I like sharing things with her. She is a good listener and an adviser. We helped each other in every ways possible. I even compose a poem for her as a present. It is my way of thanking her for all the good things we've shared.
I hope I can find someone as good as her and be her best friend also.

You are lucky indeed to have a bestfriend though you don't communicate very often. Bestfriends stay that way forever...one of our treasured people in life no matter how far they may be. I wish that you find another person like your bestfriend and when you do you will be double blessed indeed.

Unfortunately, I dont have one - I never had one..
This in fact is one great disappointment of mine since I was young - I never had anybody I could really consider a best friend..
Yes, I have established bonds with many people and I can say they're my good pals, but not best friends...
I believe a best friend is someone you could jive with smoothly all the time, someone you could share anything with and someone you can do anything with... As for me, I'm never successful in the attempt of trying to find one...
Hope someday I could find somebody as a best friend...
I also have this idea in my mind:
I think it would be great to have a bestfriend that you could eventually fall in love with... And be with her forever..
What do you think?? Wouldn't that be perfect?

We all have our ideas of what a bestfriend should be and I guess yours is someone that comes from the female population and more of a life partner. I think that friendship is a very good foundation of a lifetime partnership or marriage and you are right it would be perfect. Many married couples consider their better half as their bestfriend. Those people who finds that special person are luckier than those who won the lottery. I wish you all the best my friend of finding your life's bestfriend and partner. God bless!

In the ups and downs of my life, like when I grew up I got many friends just like you and they kept of changing and I lost them in the dust of time. In school I had a best friend but he was not with me in college. In college I again had a best friend but when I was in university he was lost. This does not mean at all that I did not contact them, I always tried but they themselves got so busy and were unable to even meet once in a month. Now is that best friendship, I do not think so. It was just a time pass according to me. Presently, I have no best friend but I want to make a best friend and hope he or she will not leave me. Scared from inside a little but lets give it a try. Life means to move on, can't stay stopped you know

I find it sad that a lot of us loose touch of those people who at one time or another touched a great part of our lives. However, it also made me feel grateful that i got to know them also and able to touch their lives in return. As you say, life must go on. But in going on, we should at least make the effort to keep in touch no matter how busy we are. I also believe that a person should have at least have a best friend because i would really find it lonely without one.

I don't really see it as "picking" a best friend. In my eyes a best friend just happens along in our lives for some unknown reason. I have 2 answers for whom my best friend is. First I'd have to say my wife is my best friend. We have been together for over 30 years now. We know each other like a book. We would give ourselves up to spare the other. Now a real "friend" not relative I call my best friend is a mna I've known about 20 or more years. He has moved 400 miles away but we still talk a lot etc. he would give his right arm if I needed one. he is very trustworthy, caring, loving & needed in my life. Thanks for another great disyssion sweetie.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I've got best friends-on different time frames--elementary, high school, and college. Although I got wonderful cousins whom I grew up with I never really considered them as friends because they are my cousins and they belong to a different category. However, as I mature and understand the true concept of a friend, I realized that my two cousins Mae and Glad are my real best friends. We're the best because we never failed each other, never fought, just tampohan, and never held grudges against each other. We had a wonderful time together when we were growing up. I miss them so much and I will never exchange them to a hundred friends.

I want to share with you this exerpt from Khalil Gibran's teachings for though you don't get to spend time with them as much as you want, your friendship is still there:
Your friend is your needs answered.
He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;
If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also.
For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill?
Seek him always with hours to live.
For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness.
God bless!
