I got a lot of good ideas from my discussion ebay vs. garage sale and appreciate everyones responses. The information helped me decide that the majority of my stuff (used) will be going into the community "garage sale". I thought I would give you a few more details on the stuff I'm considering holding back from the garage sale to see if you can help me get this one last box sorted. The community "garage sale" is this Saturday so I'm running out of time for researching every piece and hoped someone with more ebay experience could advise me quickly. 10 video games that don't work on my computer 1 unused enhanced windows keyboard 1 pair new boots (don't like color) 1 smith corona manual typewriter (portable w/case) 1 Jordasche (fake) fur coat (good condition) OK, ebayers, I hope this is something you can help me sort out. Looking at this list, please tell me if you would try any of these on ebay vs the garage sale. OK, I'm off to the storage unit again to get more boxes of books for the garage sale... so please give me your ideas on these items while I'm busy with the rest of the junk. lol

i think if you bundle the video games together you can sell them on ebay. i think all of that stuff you can sell on ebay. if they don't sell you can try again or save them til next year's garage sale. if a friend is having a garage sale later on try putting your stuff in theirs if it doesn't sell on ebay. that's what my mom always does. if it doesn't sell at her garage sale she puts it in my aunts sale.

LOL, good idea for the games. I could do a girl batch & a boy batch! Hmmm, like a traveling garage sale or a flea market. What might not be popular in my neighborhood, might be in someone elses! Pass along my thanks to your mom for giving you such good advice! That's opened up a few new avenues to persue. :)

Hi again, thanks for help with the final sorting process. :) I did get another box from storage today with the SNES & games, so I'll see if the system still works or not. That's an add to the pile! lol I think you're right about the typewriter & the coat, but I don't know about the boots, these are too nice for $5. Most of the books I think I may just give to my niece. :)

the main advantage of ebay over garage sale is your customer reach is more and you can get a better price for your items.

Thanks blueman. Very good point. Hopefully I'll get a better price on the few I decided to try on ebay instead of the garage sale.
