If you have the right stuff to be an engineer, then yes, its an excellent field. I don't have it, too much math for my brain.

There will always be a need for engineers. My husband is an engineer and thankfully will never be out of a job. After your degrees are completed you can make a lot of money!!

My wife is an engineer and hasn't been out of a job since she graduated 25 years ago. She got her degree in survey engineering and now works in the GPS industry.

Engineering is generally considered a good major in India. This is because in India there are more job openings for engineers than any other openings as yet. Also generally Engineers are thought to have better IQ, so when other industries need people from outside their stream they tend to pick Engineers, so usually it is a win win situation for the Engineers. So my suggestion to you go for it. Cheers! Ram

engineering is a really interesting field of study...it is for people who have the capability to build stuff..engineers are responsible for the new gadgets and the new infrastructures around us...there will always be a need for an engineer but the question is if you can handle it...cause there's really a lot of pressure that goes with it...and you have to be able to work well with others cause it's always something you have 2 do in a group... and man...it's a lot of math...lol///

Engineering is a great field to study. Engineers tend to be smarter and tend to be in much more demand. I have a few engineer friends and none of them had any difficulty finding work. I also agree, though, that engineering is likely a harder field of study so it likely is not as easy as many other college majors. If I went to college for the money and for job security, I would likely choose to become an engineer. But all them fancy book learnins might be too much for me noggin'.

Engineering unlike Pure science is not just studying about different laws but on the other hand its all about applying technologies for human application. As long as such customer oriented technology providers are present the job market would be ever expanding. But you have to be good at what ever stream you do. I myself am an engineer, and am just in my 3rd year and I have been placed in a major MNC for a big salary
