someone takes their own life that this is forgiveable before God? I use to think God would not forgive a person for doing such an act. Then my pastor the other day said that he believes under certian circumstances they God has moercy on them. For example if someone is not in their right mind when this occured.

Let me ask you this..... have you ever sinned? I'm certain the answer is yes, as we are all human and know we will and do sin. Does God forgive those sins? Yes. If you killed a man, went to prison and then found God, would you be damned to hell because you killed the man? No. God is a forgiving God and knows what is in your heart. People who tell you that you immediately go to hell have no clue about the real issues of life and sin. God does not damn a person to hell for sin, we would all be there in that case. Instead, when you are called upon you pay for your sins, you are viewed deep in your heart. God knows if you deserve Heaven and if you are sincere of heart.

Yes He forgives, but we have to ask for Him to forgive us. I do believe that the time that a person is dying that God gives each person a chance to repent, even until they draw their last breath. So we really don't know who all has made it to heaven. We may be surprised.

I think in the case of "Clinical Depression", where mental instability can become extreme, there is justification for forgiveness. Not only forgiveness, but compassion. And the desire to support with with Depression.
