How did you get your name? nickname?

When my mom was pregnant with me, she loved watching bionic woman on TV so she named me after her. when bionic woman is in human form, her name is jamie somers. my mom got her name and just changed the spelling, the spelling of my name is kinda unique and weird at the same time, nobody gets it the first time. they would usually spell it as jamie or jaimee, they get confused when i start spelling it for them. anyway, my name is jaemee and my mom gave me a nickname of bionic but i changed that since i was 8 years old i guess. i didn't like the bionic nickname... since highschool everyone calls me james and i still like that nickname till now.

Strangely enough, I'm named after my dad's very first girlfriend (who isn't my mom.. LOL). Well, I'm named after her nickname. Her name was Sylvia but everyone called her Sylvie. My mom thought that was really pretty and decided to go along with my dad when he suggested that they call me Sylvie. Although, like you, my parents just had to be different and instead of spelling it Sylvie they changed it to Silvi.. seems easy enough to me but I spend alot of time correcting people on the spelling of my name.

I was told by my mother that they got my name from the crowned Miss Universe in 1978. I was born of the same year. She find her (Maureen Avaviera) beautiful and talented. That's when they decided to name their first child (that's me) after her. =)
